I do think he will be a quality pickup, i don't think his price drop is like other players where they have picked up an injury or less minutes, its more that we've played good opposition and he's probably been told to calm down and pick his moments a little better after a few wayward offloads. The other big factor is not having Whitehead beside him for most of the weeks, he does a lot for those outside guys, the one week he's back Leipana went back to scoring at will.

I also think he will be overlooked for origin this year, Croker will get the gig because there is only so many times you can lose close games, before you think it might be worth giving the leading point scorer who's a gun goal kicker a shot (and i reckon Sterlo rates him). Hmm, maybe its the bias but i may have just talked myself back in to it..

I don't mind it, he's minutes have been in the 60-65 range consistently now, so you have a fair idea there, he makes a lot of tackles although its offset by a large number of missed tackles, is a DPP etc. But my point was more that I don't think you intend to keep him all season, so you are likely bringing him in hoping he keeps up a few more mid 40 scores and then jump off him to another player, whether it be a Half or a Hooker.

You've got Brailey, so is the idea that you want to bring in Api now, holding onto Brailey for those last few price rises, trade him out and shift Api there, bringing in a cheap half? In which case you will probably want to trade out Korisau a few weeks later. How much further does that get your team than if say you had just downgraded LG now (or Upgraded to a keeper, depending on your cash/preferences). How much cash does Brailey make you in those few weeks and how long until you want to trade out Api? I think looking at your Halves you could argue for having Api's scores rather than Lamb/Jacks and perhaps you would prefer to wait until Lamb rises a bit further and upgrade him to a keeper. On the other hand, he could score mid 30's for the next few weeks, no better than Lamb, rising very little and potentially being a wasted trade.

I guess I'm sitting firmly  Fence Sitting, i just thought id say out loud the kind of thought process i go through with these things. To me its possibly a little too risky for too low of a reward (bringing him in now, those who started with him might be happy), but manly HAVE found their mojo recently so who knows.

So in the case that Farah is back to play this week for Souths, and Cook becomes a bit riskier as an option, what's everyone's opinion on Jake Friend? He's been a bit up and down, but he's scored >50 in both the games where he's played the full 80, his price is down to about $500K and likely to drop about another ~$10K next week.

I don't think he's a Smith/Macca/McInnes level keeper in the Hooker role, but he seems a decent pick up for Brailey for Macca / McInnes owners for the medium term. He has a good bye schedule and will score good points until you can upgrade him to Smith following Origin. Additional plus for McInnes owners, the Roosters and Dragons do not share a bye round.

    This weeks in/out predictions:
    Out: Merrin
    In: Graham, Pearce, Frawley

Why has his minutes changed? Is it because of injuries meaning the guy who would normally replace him slots elsewhere to cover?

Assuming Frawley gets named to start. I have 38k bank.
    My hookers = Smith, Brailey
My halves = SJ, Lamb, Jacks, Field

If I go Brailey to Cook I don't have enough to go Field to Frawley
But if I go Brailey to K. Pritchard I have enough to go Field to Frawley

So which option do you like:
    (a) Just do 1 trade = Brailey out & Cook in or
    (b) Do 2 trades = Brailey out & K. Pritchard in - Field out & Frawley in

    Cheers.

I'm not sure why he only played 68 minutes in round 2. Round 3 he suffered an injury and this probably affected his scoring. He played 80 in R1 and R5 and averaged 76 minutes a game last year, so I'd think he'd likely be playing 80 regularly.
