Re: 2017 NRL.com Fantasy Thread Part 32
Leilua was a definite target for me with the byes in mind but last night it seemed from what the commentators were saying he has played his way into the Australian side. This also probably means he's a very good chance of being selected in the NSW origin side especially with Hayne still out. I might wait & get Croker instead. His b/e was 61 last night & he scored 31 & at a current price of 419k then in a couple of weeks he could be 300-350k.

The wild card would give a massive advantage to cash cow teams make as much as you can early on and bring in a gun team

If Ben Hunt is out for another 5 weeks I might seriously look at Kodi Nikorima, can bring him in for BAbbey who was an accident anyway

The last 2 scores for Winterstein have been 49 & 50. He is now a solid reserve option for me. In fact my team have named Winterstein the players player of the day.
830 with Brailey Guth Idris left. Hoping Fifi has a quiet game for several of my H2H

Yeah K-Nik could really make some cash in this 5 week period if he's going to score 40+ every week.

Nice mate. My ideal scenario is Idris to score 50 & Fifita to score 70. Fifita is due a try, he's been close 2-3 times.

It would bring another dimension to the game.manlybeaver wrote:The wild card would give a massive advantage to cash cow teams make as much as you can early on and bring in a gun team
When do you use it?
Take advantage of cash cows early on, get a strong squad during the bye period or set yourself up with a gun team for the last several weeks

Those that have saved trades will come storming home & overtake those that have run out of trades like me haha.

Personally I'd use it early and get a lot of the first bye round guns but it can come to an a advantage when multiple low price come around plus upcoming cash cowsdreamers wrote:

People can put ideas or thoughts out there and then are shot down without thinking.
Are we not trying to improve as coaches or look at ways to be better?
Congrats to the people who thought outside the box this year, you are ahead of the game and I respect you for where you are placed.
The good coaches should be able to stay up there and prove it was no fluke
Someone like Rabbit who may or may not be right will have all his posts thrown in the same bin or downvoted simply because he posted it. I may not agree with everything he says or how he says it but respect that he is one of the old heads and still has his thoughts.
Forums need their characters.
The same reason certain experienced players don't post here anymore or why it feels like you are always trying to justify yourself even though your track record may say otherwise.
It's ironic as it's these same people who ask who to trade in, who to reserve and sponge off a lot of info without contributing themselves. Though perhaps thats the world we live in
I guess very few appreciate Paceys late mail as it can go weeks without an upvote and if he is away games can go missed or no one wants to put their hand up.I bet there are others who go unthanked as well.
As an experiment let's see what happens to people's teams when the contributors stop contributing.
I am genuinely curious to see what happens from here on out, and will bet people who are self sufficient and think for themselves won't suffer for it.
Hey Booze. I'm not sure why people would stop contributing? The thread has more activity than I have seen in my 6 years of reading it.
In regards people being shot down-this is by far the most welcoming and friendly Fantasy site/page I have seen, and I am a member of pretty much all of them. Certainly less hive mentality as well mate. I don't understand where all that is coming from? Exactly as you say, we are here to learn and help and they are discussions, I don't see a pack attack on here like I do on other sites. What I do see is a lot of people discussing ideas and sharing insights, I very rarely see people getting shot down or being ganged up on.
With Rabbit, he thrives on it. It is his personality. Just ask him and he will tell you. He is the first to tell everyone he is ALWAYS right, pretty sure he has allready done it once this morning?
Pacey won a gong for the "Best Helper" award last year, and has more likes per post than any other poster. Subjectively I would also say he is the most thanked poster on here as well through actual comments. I am not sure how that translates to very few appreciating him.
Your thread also won the gong for "Best Thread" last year and run on a very high PPL (Posts Per Like) as well, and you received massive props for sharing your journey and keeping us entertained.

What I would like to see as a added feature is a Wildcard, if you play FPL you will understand how it works. Perhaps you have one to use anytime during the season.
Or
Increase the trade limit to 3 per round and make it unlimited for the season.
The reason I like these ideas is once you have your starting team it's really hard to dramatically change it with the current system.
Wild card would be great .
Use it early to get in all the cash cows? Or time it around origin to maximise player availability?
The other thing I'd like to see from FPL is 1 free trade a week, but you can make extra trades at a cost of around 30 points per trade

The only negative re K-Nik is you'll have to use another trade to sell him or else he'll be an a.e. nightmare down the track. Mind you I can't remember what the $ value is for a trade but if K-Nik scores 40+ each game he could make 150k making the trade worth it. It's probably safer going with Frawley because he's probably nailed now at h/b & has better base stats due to km's. My first trade this week will probably be Jacks to Frawley. I'll need an extra reserve option with Surgess looking at a 2 match ban.

Kind of filthy I didn't jump on Crichton this round.. I hope ET and Merrin start to pickup soon!
No idea about trades for next week. Got norman, jacks and elgey as playing halves. So thinking about switching in Nikorima to fill that void. Still got the problem of my outside backs.. Happy with Cotric and Idris in my centres for now, however I'm switching between Suli, Kelly and Rennings as my third option for WFB/CTR and it's making things difficult as they all have inconsistencies. Got 48k in the bank so not a whole lot to play with unfortunately... I think rolling back the holmes trade I did last week is going to haunt me.

Musgrove Kbrom Elgey and Siro on the chopping block
Siro might be injured? And Musgrove might get more minutes due to Burgess
So trades looking like
Kbrom to Whitehead/PODene
Elgey to Kniko/Milf

I like the look of Crichton I do and I even picked him up on SC but for some reason I cant bring him in I'm worried about what Madge will do.
This week I'm trading out Kbrom for either Crichton , Thompson or Whitehead. I know whatever choice I made it'll be the wrong one haha

PODene's 40 was a pretty good effort. I hve him and didn't think there was any way he would pass an HIA. To be honest I don't think he should have been back out there, was a bit shaky.
I was cold on Whitehead but might look at him for Siro (depending on potential injury) or TPG if Carty is back next week. Don't really want to sell TPG though.
