I traded CHN out this week because I thought he wouldn't play. I mean it was to Crichton so that mitigates missing the price rise but still my strategy so far this year has unknowingly revolved around selling people really quickly to jump to guns.

already got bodene, probably jumped a bit too early to be fair.
he has a lowish b/e this week about 40. so maybe next week is the best time to pick him up. i think a lot of teams will have two of cricton/whitehead/bodene, and will look to get the third in the next week or two.
also widdop re-signed for dragons. finally a deal that has been based on results/form

Is it me or has Croker become very selfish this year. Last night late in the game Croker once again ignored Cotric & tried to score himself. He did slip but that was after he tried to step off his left foot to try & score himself. He had that split second to pass to Cotric for an easy try & a win but once again opted to go for himself. This is especially bad since he is captain & he more than anyone should know you put the team first. In previous years he would of passed to his winger but this year he has become a ball hog. Do we think he is putting origin selection in front of his team as this is the only reason I can explain why Croker has suddenly this year become a very selfish player or has his ego become too big.

Croker has been doing that all year. If someone has time to look at all of Cotric tries most of them from memory are cut out passes or offloads after Croker is tackled. Plenty of points being left on the table doing this

Benjamin Hampton
Or
Matthew Frawley
So like I paid the price for taking a gamble on Adam Reynolds and I have to play one of them in his place. Do I lean towards Hampton for attacking stats against the Knights and getting a score similar to what he did against the Tigs or do I take a chance that Lichaa will piss off early for Frawley to come on?

I use to really respect Croker as a player because he was so unselfish but I don't know what's happened to him this year. Maybe people close to him have been in his ear that you are too unselfish & that he should back himself more & he's lost sight of what made him such a great player. Also being old school the centre's main job is to set up your winger.

Both are starting off the bench so you may need to flip a coin. What makes your decision more difficult is that Hampton plays before Frawley. I would reserve Hampton & hope he gets some attacking plays against the Knights.

Ouch that sucks
I would go Frawley, and hope that the wingers/centres catch his beautifully placed kicks instead of fumbling around. I guess they are not used to getting this kind of service

I have to play either Frawley or Elgey...
Elgey will play 80, but is nominated for the Carter award every round.
Frawley plays off the bench, but can score more than Elgey in 20min.

I personally would take the punt on Frawley

I haven't had much to do with him in the last few years but as a young bloke he was always very respectful and polite. He doesn't have a big head.
Considering he grew up with Todd Carney, they are complete opposites.

Re: 2017 NRL.com Fantasy Thread Part 34
The Croker bashing is a bit of a stretch lads. I don't even support the Raiders and yet I can see that the issue is certainly more than "Croker is a ball hog". The guy comes across as a well grounded, level headed young bloke with only the teams best interests at heart. He'll probably go on to break every record in the game so why would he care about jagging a four pointer at the risk of losing the game?
I think a lot more of it would come back to a lack of communication flowing on from a lack of combinations there. It's not like that left edge has been together forever and Cotric is still a kid playing outside his captain. Pretty sure he ain't gonna be yelling and demanding the ball and due to a lack of time together you can't expect that Croker is just gonna know he is there.
Twice last week Croker did the quick shift tap on out to Cotrics sideline and twice Cotric wasn't in the correct position.
I agree that last night there was at least two potential scoring opportunities that went begging but I certainly don't think it's because Croker is greedy.

I didn't mean off the field & I'm sure he's a great guy & very respectful but just his change of attitude on the field.

Re: 2017 NRL.com Fantasy Thread Part 34
Brailey or CHN for last reserve?
Also, not sure if I want to risk Norman losing more money with a be of 72. I was thinking of turning him into SJ, then closer to the byes turn Lamb back into Norman where there may only be 100k difference between the two.
Thoughts?

Seems like a lotta trades to be burning bro. and to be honest I don't see Lamb getting a whole lot higher than 350k. He hasn't shown anything this season to suggest that he'll go nuts and French is only a week or two away meaning that the player positional changes should go back to normal at Parra.
I guess there's potential for the SJ trade in to work out better off for points as well but it kinda hinges on where you are currently situated trades to keepers wise and whether you think that the money shift between the pair will make it viable in the long run.

I'd save the trades, If you think Norman is a keeper, which you clearly do if your plan is to use 2 trades on him, it doesn't matter how much money he loses,

If CHN starts I would reserve him. I'd be tempted to hold Norman. The last couple of weeks he's been very close to scoring a try. SJ has a b/e of 64 & with Foran gradually getting more of the play SJ might struggle to match his b/e this week. It's a gut call though & if you think this will benefit your team go for it mate.
