What is the typical suspension for drink driving? 2-4 weeks? This is an interesting one because at the time it came out the NRL season had ended but he had been selected for 2 games for Australia as captain no less. On face value I think that's enough punishment, especially since he lost, and may never get back the highest individual honour in the game, being Captain of your national team. Tough to weigh up with being consistent though. If it happened a week before the Trans-Tasman midyear test team is announced, you'd say 2-4 weeks and if that means he misses a test match then too bad.

Rabbitohs play the Broncos in Round 8. Maybe to be sure he should get suspended for 8 NRL rounds and return in Round 9.

A test's worth about $20K these days. Captaincy, 2 internationals and $40K seems fair.

Late last night The Sydney Morning Herald broke news the entire Cronulla Sharks team has been banned from the Cronulla Sailing club. Reportedly, on December 21st a scuffle broke out with some lower grade player's. An investigation is underway with Sharks CEO stating,

“I can confirm there was an incident, which is being investigated by the club. The club has informed the [NRL] integrity unit and is working with police with their investigation,” he told the Herald. “We will take the appropriate action once the investigation is concluded.”

Peni Terepo got 3 match suspension for refusing to give a breath test in NZ last off season. Salmon just convicted of low range drink driving so Eels will likely give out the same ban. I’d think the highest profile league getting done mid range should warrant more then that, 2 tests isn’t enough and losing the captaincy shouldn’t even be considered part of the punishment that’s an honor he doesn’t deserve.

I still find it ridiculous that the NRL lets clubs decide punishments before they step in. Why isn’t the NRL doingnit amdnthen clubs can add on things like fines or club suspensions. This part of the NRL is the most amature in any professional sport across the world

Why though? It should just be a matter for the police why are the NRL steeping in at all? Why do you want Greg Inglis to have 100 match ban or whatever you're pushing for, for low range drinking drink driving?

If I got done drink driving my company wouldn't punish me on top of what the police did. Something I've never really understood when they already get double punishment and still people aren't happy

I’d lose my job or at the very least be put in a very different role that limited me and cost me money.

Different jobs and different people are held to different standards. Professional atheletes are and should be held to high standards. It’s hard enough trying to teach kids right and wrong these days without having high profile people breaking the law or just doing stupid irresponsible things in the public eye.

I disagree that Inglis should get a higher ban than Terepo. Refusing to provide a breath test is worse in my mind, because not only did he disregard police instruction, but he probably did it as he was high range as well.

    yeah that's pretty logical imo

more annoyed at the courts tbh then worried about the suspension, drink driving needs to be treated harsher by the court, he got a shorter good behavior bond then adam elliot FFS

doing heaps of charity etc should help you if you do somthing like what elliot did. it shouldn't help when you recklessly endanger other citizens lives

Did someone just give their club a reason to move them on like they've been trying to do since December ? No detail just someone being linked to EPL again.

One well-known reporter sent an out-of-Sydney club a photo of one of its elite players snorting a line of cocaine during a big night out.

The journo told the club he would not make the photo public, but just wanted the club to know it had a problem.

The player concerned is one of the game’s brightest young stars but had a well below-par season in 2018.

I'm more interested in who the journo is than the player. Sounds like a good bloke.

Its probably the mole himself trying to make himself out to be a good bloke. Probably blackmailing the club. Laughing

usually when the rumour journos use 'out-of-sydney' they're referring to one club in particular, if that is indeed the case, then it's obvious who the journo is because he sits firmly in the club's back pocket.

What a fantastic bloke and it's stories like this that really restore my faith in humanity.

I suppose this journo also has a pet unicorn that he likes to ride on the weekends too....
