Be careful with bringing in some 'bye friendly' players just because they play next week. While Raiders and Warriors plays look like decent byes now after next week they have some fairly poor byes. Ideally you would look to shift them for some 15/18 players after next week. I'm thinking something along the lines of Whitehead to Harris or Finucane after round 12 to maximise bye coverage and grab a possible keeper

They're both keepers imo but Surgess for sure.

33.83% ownership vs 13.11% if that makes any difference for you. Price and affordability should also be considered. If the 48k saved on Crichton nets you a better player elsewhere than do that

So what are all you Brailey owners planning to do? Hold him until Round 13 and then go to McInnes?

Yes that sounds like a solid plan doesn't it. Problem is that what may be the exact thing everyone competing with me in the Top 5 of my open league may be thinking too. 2 of those 5 aren't even Smith owners so they won't be bringing him in soon. Going to see a lot of Macca/McInnes or Smith/McInnes teams soon.

Do I go the POD option and trade in Jake Friend? I'd have to hope for 50+ scores on the regular again but he's a cut price option and a left of field choice. Hmmmmm hopefully Hunt returns soon so i can get an idea of how Macca's minutes might be affected.

I would stick with Brailey mate & sell round 13. Friend scored a 50 but that included a try. He's only averaging 45 which Brailey is capable of scoring.

Better to go CHN to Surgess this week or next?

White Lightning wrote:If there's no other alternative you can sell other than CHN I would do this trade this week.

Only other option is Stone but with a b/e of 1 I figure I'm better off holding him.

definitely mcinnes rnd 13 if i can afford it, unless segeyaro is out for longer - thats the plan.

the benefit of friend wont be as big round 12 as most teams will likely have brailey (15 points difference?) so you would need to go smith to friend to maximise his pod value.

come round 18 though, i dont think many teams will have a hooker at all and thats the ideal round for him. not sure i would carry him through the byes just to get that one round

i think there is better pod value elsewhere like harris or tauks.

That's quite a luxury trade. Friend is unlikely to be in the top few hookers for the run home, so he'll be another trade out later for rounds 20-25.

I'd get McInnes. If Macca's scores drop with Hunt back then Smith/McInnes seems like hands down the best combo for 20-25. Might be better finding PODs elsewhere in your team.

People getting Croker? I'll be selling Cotric Rd 15 and very possibly Whitehead>Tofu if funds allow and his form resembles previous seasons

In that case I would sell Stone. Just because he has a low b/e it shouldn't stop you from upgrading him to a gun like Surgess. CHN is a better player imo & I'd prefer to keep him over Stone. That's just my opinion though & if you'd rather keep Stone then follow you gut instincts.

Can I ask why you think so? I have McGuire Graham Brown and FKaufusi in my FRF and will turn Kaufusi into Gallen and McGuire to maybe James before round 13 once I downgrade CHN to a nuffie DPP. Then just need to bring in Munster for Slater or Suli and ARey for Niko. Am I going about the right way? It seems like a good plan at least in theory lol

The only thing holding me back from Croker was round 15 and 18, same with SJ. The are both keepers though and not many other options I'd like to jump on for the long term.

Well you get Croker it means you're fielding one more player in Round 12 then you are in 15 & 18. Unless you go after someone like Hoppa or Aubo then you're not going to get many quality CTR's with good bye coverage.
If Hymel Hunt were to get back to last year's form then yeah but otherwise CTR is the shittest position of the year so no need to scramble around that for the byes I think. That's just me though

Thanks mate food for thought. All depends if Niko starts or not anyway. If hunt starts the trade will be Niko > walker/arey

Fuck me, a few years ago I think pretty much all of us thought Wallace was lucky to even be in first grade. Good on him if it's true.
