ATTENTION - CAPTAIN LOOPHOLE STILL SEEMS TO BE POSSIBLE!!

So, with the VC on Lolo last night I was interested to see if the old captain switcheroo is still possible with current captain CS9.

    I know there's no 'S' to substitute, but here's the trick;

On PC when you scroll over a player's card on the field display, the arrow changes to a 4 way arrow, if you click and drag on your current captain and place the card on top the player you want to switch with - it works! After the switch it changed the league match up. Now, whether that sticks till the end I'm not sure.

To be clear, this was for interest only, and my captain will remain CS9 this week but I'd be interested to know if it sticks after final scores are recorded, as it may be very handy come bye rounds if it works.

Anyone willing to give it a go to see if it works?

There is a tweet which Wacko just re-tweeted saying Rankin will start at 5/8 tonight for the Tigers. Not terribly fantasy relevant. too expensive to be used as a reasonable cash out and probably scores poorly anyway. then you have Lolohea who may come across

Seggy was on Fox last night and said he was still 6 weeks away, so Brailey owners might squeak an extra couple of weeks out of him if need be.

Edit: When asked why 12 weeks total (that's a long time for a break), he replied saying that because it was the second break on the same arm as last time they needed to take some extra precautions - or words to that effect.

I don't think Seggy would even get back into the 17. Brailey is improving week to week.

NRLFantasy had not changed its scoring, rules or stats provider in 3 years. In what way do you think is getting closer to supercoach?

I thought that might be the case. I guess Lolo and Taupau have just increased their output and minutes this year which I think is the case for Lolo especially.
Just had a feeling that although the stats provider company hasn't changed it's employees could have and the subjectivity around what constitutes certain areas of scoring could be contributing.
But if I remember correctly Taupau had some big scores in him to start with but then reverted to his normal last year.

Lolo has no Scott/Hannant/Tamou this year and the cowboys are desperate to win those close games so his minutes and output have definitely increased. Should have seen this coming as has always had gun potential but only ever given 50 minutes in the past. Has become a must have for final 17 you would think.

Yeah, that's a reason why I'm waiting on Gal I think.  Having Fifi also would have made it really tough with also Crichton and Surgess in round 13.

Lolo suddenly looking like a great option in 13 also.

I think you need Gallen just for the fact that he's going to be the best captain option in rounds 12 & 15 if he isn't selected for origin of course. I have Fifita as well & the fact he misses 4 games over the origin period is a bit of a problem but I'm prepared to waste a trade & get him back later on.

I have Surgess for next week, but who knows, I might change my mind once next week comes. I don't think I could use 2 trades to get Fifi out and back in.

if I'm swapping cs9 with a reserve hooker, does the loophole still work?

I was able to drag McInnes onto Smith and smith went to bench but then dragged McInnes back to the bench

Just get McInnes in barring a sudden surge in form from Brailey. If he does hit a 50+ I might reconsider it and ride his price rises all the way to a potential Macca trade instead. That's of course dependent on what his scores are like when Hunt comes back. If he can still bang out 60 tackles and stay on the field for 80 I'd rather him over McInnes

    Yes.

But if you swap your captain with a reserve, you'll now only have 3 reserves.
So make sure you select a new 4th reserve or you'll be playing with 16

For those who have Surgess & Gallen in round 12 & won't have 17 players. Souths play before the Sharks so as I own both I will vc Surgess & c Gallen. I think this is right that it's important that with the loophole strategy that when you put Gallen in the reserves you have to take the R off Gallen & put the R on someone who isn't playing so you then get Gallen as an a.e. score. & then your vc gets the double points.

It will be hard to judge next week with the Broncs what the situation will be with Macca and Niko since Macca will play 80 anyway with all the guys out for Origin. Round 13 will be the first time we see a full strength Broncos with Niko on the bench, making the timing of the Sharks having their bye that very week not ideal.

So have you guys come to the conclusion there is no loophole this year? I can't test it this week as have the C on Cam but Brailey is my bench hooker.

Sorry mate, didn't read this! Good on ya mate, seems like you have solved it!

I'd happily test it for everyone but as per above, Brailey is my reserve. I'll do it next week if no-one has by that point...

OK next thing - probably been talked about already too!

How the Fuck does Gallen cop an Error for the attempted strip last night? Seems freakin dumb - it is where he was awarded it right?

And having several forwards backing up from Origin in Round 13 will probably mean Round 13 isn't a reliable indicator of minutes either. I'd imagine Gillett, Moose and Thaiday will probably get big minutes in Origin so they may get a bit of a rest in Round 13 with Macca staying out there.
