Just because you loophole doesnt mean you will end up with a bigger score. Its a risk and all part of the game.

i disagree, the fact thats it called a 'loophole' points to it being and unintended side-effect of the workings of the current system.

how is the loophole a risk? you get a free look at double points from a boom or bust player, and it that doesn't pay off, no skin off your nose because you'll just get double from the safe captain choice instead.

nvm moved jdb and replaced gallen easily. as you were...

This is interesting as I am stuck.  Currently have the VC on Crichton.  My C is on Tolman and my other playing Prop is Musgrove.  Iapalii and Fifi in my NPR's.  So:

    Tolman (C), Musgrove; Fifita, Iapalii

I can't do anything with Tolman as no S or R button coming up.  We spoke about this potentially happening over the last couple of weeks.  I can't move my C to my NPR's which is different to the last few years when loopholing?

If I loophole Crichton and Gallen gets 80+ I'll be a lil annoyed, but not to much.

Loopholes just an unfortunate name that stuck from the original way of doing it

I was all for him, but as soon as that contract talk came out, I had a bad feeling. Not to say he'll come good and be a gun, but it's not looking great.

Yep, reversed the trade after the contract talk last fortnight thank fuck. If he actually looks interested in the next few games I'll have another look.

Yeah its different to last year for sure.

I recommend you try this on the pc. place your cursor on papalii and click and drag him onto Tolman who is your C.

for some reason you cant move the (C) at all

Yeah, I did exactly the same thing. I think that we haven't heard another thing about the contract saga is probably a bad thing to be honest. But damn he looked disinterested. He was just having a dummy spit the whole 80 minutes.

Cheers. Can you reverse what you did though? Not saying to, but pretty sure a poster on here (maybe Warriors?) did this last week and it cost him a reserve. It showed up on his H2H, but then he didn't get the actual AE score or something. Don't quote me on that though pm.

I actually have the feeling they have genuinely closed the loophole this year the more I look at it.

So I've used 2 trades to bring in C. Walker but Souths will bounce back in round 14. It's time to get some cash with my 3rd trade to sell Cook & get McInnes so I'm going:
    F. Kaufusi out - Capewell in

This will give me 262k bank to go Cook to McInnes with 1 trade in round 13 & I've factored in the value that Cook will lose. I've estimated he'll drop around 43k & drop to 263k.

The loophole is a cool feature, but I get why people might frown upon it. But really it's not that much of an advantage. You have less players to choose from anyway and yeah it's some sort of insurance but at the same time, you still have to make a call either way. Making a call to loophole is not much different than choosing a captain in the first place, you just get a mulligan basically. But even if you take the mulligan you can still shoot a worse shot than the first time anyway.

I had VC on Surgess and have the C on SJ. Obviously I'm going to take the punt on SJ, but if he for some reason gets less than 43, than so be it.

ive tried reversing and it works. same goes with players with the (r) on them. you can move everyone freely as long as they dont have the C on them and they havent played

it does seem odd that they changed this option specifically. not sure what the reasoning was behind removing the (s) from the captain. Perhaps this was due to the r.james incident last year? with people exploiting his double points that week?

I thought the James thing was just a one off coding issue though? You could literally trade him in and Captain him during the game.

The way you did it mate with the hover and 4 arrow thingamajiggy I'm pretty sure is how a lot of us could do it last week. But the poster that left it till lockout got fucked over I think?

Thanks man, I just came up with it. cheer

But I do think people think it's a bigger play than what it actually is, I say go for it. Hey, if Mr C Smith played every week somehow, no one would have even discovered the loophole in the first place, am I right? Laughing

I'd expect Semi is due an upgrade for whoever went with that punt.

Looked quite dangerous and suspect he will end up a good 12/15/18 option
