There are 3 main considerations when making trades at this point

    1. Available money
    2. Available trades
    3. Projected points

Not every trade will necessarily be ideal on all 3 points, so compromises must be made. Players don't always hel[fully botto out in price the week after their final bye, at the same time as the player you are trading out has peaked in price.

Whilst Leilua may not be ideal on all counts - he is certainly cheap, and with many people short on trades and cash he provides a tempting trade in option.
Bringing him now has the advantage of getting (hopefully) a keeper for a decent price at the trouble some centre position, with the downside of missing an extra game compared to most other options.

GTrain, Burgess, Chrichton, JDB, Whitehead, AElliot

    Leilua, Moga, Suli, Fui

I'm getting a bit worried having only 14 trades remaining and $60k in bank. I eventually need to go Pritchard to CS9 and JWallace to Fifita which means at least 4 trades needed to do cash outs and then the upgrade.

My first thought is to cash out Niko and upgrade Whitehead to Lolo. The other option is to upgrade RTS to Teddy/Rapana but not sure if that is wise yet.

I'm gonna say no. Wait a week, or 2 in this case.

You've got a few more trades left than me so our situations may be a little different. However, for me its about getting guys in now that are keepers for the rest of the year. For that reason Lolohea just isn't an option. I see Rapana as a must have (perhaps my judgement is clouded by his last two games...) but when you look at the back 3 options there isn't a heap to chose from when looking at keepers. Teddy, Rapana + 1 is it IMO. On top of that you have to work out how much money you have moving forward and who you can afford. When I put the pieces together Rapana is the buy for me this week.

idris to nuffty and rts to rapana leaves 100k, slater to munster next week if he gets the call up and frawley to lolohea. sorted cheers

Who should come in out of Edwards and Lolohea? Whoever it is will become 18th man for the run in so leaning towards Lolohea for job security.

Also who goes this week Suli or Cotric? with the other out next week. Leaning towards Suli with the lower BE. Byes not a concern

    JDB or Merrin.

Who do we think will score better for the rest of the season? Their price isn't too disimlar at the moment and they're both possible origin call-ups though maybe JBD is more likely there?

@ Milchy. Fifita only misses 2 of the next 6 games. He misses round 15 & 18. The Sharks 2nd bye is round 18. I'm considering him this round because I don't have Smith & Fifita is a great captain choice coming off his performance in origin 1 & also with a b/e of 38 he'll be too expensive when he scores 70+ this week. I only have 12 trades so I'm setting up my final team.

I've been playing with a damn bye planner and no matter what I do I can't seem to end up with more than 8 players for round 18. I'm trading for my final team and I'm just not interested in many players that play that week. And knowing my luck, if it's anything like the last 2 bye rounds, 4 players will drop out last minute and I'll end up scoring 150 for the week. This makes me feel uncomfortable. Bang

here are a few ownership numbers from the top 1500 ranked teams after round 13 was completed. still working on making this easier to access but taking requests for other players. At the bottom is the four most popular captains in round 13 (though it doesn't take into account if someone loopholed - that is something I can work out with a bit more SQL though)...

    TAUMALOLO: 682
    GALLEN: 998
    SURGESS: 1338
    JDB: 706
    CRICHTON: 1194
    ET: 31
    TAUPAU: 170
    MERRIN: 669

    CS9: 782
    MCINNES: 679
    MACCA: 249
    BRAILEY: 562
    FRIEND: 224
    KAYSA: 191

Most Popular Captains In Rnd 13
    TAUMALOLO: 520
    JDB: 237
    SJ: 154
    MANNERING: 141

Most obscure captain choices in the top 1500 for round 13 were Semi Radradra, Jarrod Wallace, and Adam Elliot (all with one choice each). Bold.

potential cash out in fine plays that week. also feeney if you have a bit of crazy in you. edwards, gurgess

a storm player cheapie may also start rounds 15 and 18 (wont know till team lists next week).

guns = merrin, norman, taupau, tturbo is a 50/50 for origin, dce?

have 11 including slater - its definitely a tough round, but im gonna cross that bridge when i get there

Nice work MTB. My Fifita (c) seems to be a bit of a differential then.

I guess it's time I trade Lolo into my team. Coming off a great score and he also plays round 15 which is handy.

    Jennings to Lolohea. Done.

    Thanks for the tips!
I haven't counted Slater, but he'll probably be gone by then if he's in Origin.
Munster and Cleary will be likely traded in before then, so they've been counted. I'll also either be trading in Taumalolo or Merrin, depending on how much cash I think I can spare, but will mean I'm either missing a player in 15 or 18, so no difference really.

Before round 18 I will need a cashout in FRF, CTR and a HLF/WFB DPP. I haven't counted these guy in my count. Fine might be a goer. I was going to pick my FRF next week to try and get someone from team lists. Gurgess is a possibility but I will have to count my cash. If I don't cash right out to bottom dollar I might have to waste an extra trade later for more cash, so I'd have to work out if the extra point are worth it.
I don't imagine I'll find a 138k HLF/WFB that plays at all, but that's the price I'll have to pay for flexibility.

Forgot to check his ownership. 461 in round 13.

Fifita put in an awesome performance in origin 1 & he had a week off to recuperate & now this week full of confidence knowing he's the alpha prop in the nrl he's going to kill it.

So have gone Cotric > Rapana and RTS > Cleary via Munster

2 more keepers in and sorted before they become unaffordable.
