Yep, Welshy trying to string 17 together for next week though.Moose wrote:Laybutt should be good for 30-35 this week. From all accounts he is solid in defense and enjoys that workload. Has a fair kicking game so should rack up some points there as well.SI wrote:

That moment when you have 15 players for the round but they include guys like Sele, C Scott and Burns who could very well combine to score only 30 points total. I mean I guess it all helps though right?

17 is nice no doubt about it, but I daresay that anyone with that many will be stacked full of shitters. There simply aint that many guns playing this round and if you do happen to have a ton of them you'll likely be short next week. You won't fall that much behind with that team mate.
I reckon anyone with McInness, Vaughn, Surgess, Gal, JDB, Crichton, Munster will do just fine. Only really missing Taumalolo and perhaps Brown right? Although tough to have them all!

Re: 2017 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 49
I'm just sharing my story because I think others will be in a similar position.
I don't think i have the cash in my team to get all the gun 2nd rowers and front rowers so I'm going to go with fewer of the top line
My final 17 will likely be
Smith McInnes
McGuire Wallace Brown Graham
JDB Gallen Crichton Merrin
Cleary Johnson
??? ???
Munster RTS Ted
Guth/Dedwards 18th man
So I'll likely be at 7-8 trades to get to this team, so finding the cash to get in fifita/lolo/surgess may be a bridge too far. See how it goes, but picking up TRD, Abbey and not doing anything with Papali all year and not getting CHN, Ponga etc. has let me get too far behind in cash generation.
Centres at the moment are suli and smat but will address them when the likes of maybe aitken or someone crops up. At the moment though, NFI what to do there. I'm sitting in the 1400s going into this round but this is my team for the round with 11 trades and 250k left
McInnes
Brown
JDB, Gallen, Crichton, Marsters
Fbrown
Suli Tui Scott
Munster Guth

Re: 2017 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 49
Following on from Clack's post: I'll be really interested to know (at the end of the year) the breakdown of this years top 10 and 100 in terms of bringing in various permutations of Hess, Ponga, and CHN. Seems to me these guys were the keys in early cash making AND early points. I only got one (CHN) and feel like I've been a step behind all year (top rank was last week at ~650 before Friend bit me).

That was my internal assessment of this round, and r18 I suspect to be even worse. It's just nice to have a full squad.
Ive still used all 3 trades this week. Brailey to McInnes because I can see he has peaked in terms of price and not a keeper, and I wouldn't forgive myself if he scores another 20 odd and McInnes scores 70. I cashed Frawley to Laybutt and I upgraded Nikorima to Munster. I now have to choose next week between getting Rapana in or Taupau.
Actually, heres a question, am I better to do Niko to Munster now, and pick one of Rapana or Taupau next week...or go without Munster this week and get both the boys next week?

I'm making some cash outs this week to make sure I've got enough to bring in Mansour for Suli and Cleary for Milf
