QLD definitely no changes barring injuries. Boyd was good at centre and debutants all did well enough.
NSW pack, halves and bench the same with 3/4s most under threat - Hayne and BMoz even though BMoz went ok. If I was Daley would bring in a specialist centre (Jennings) for Hayne and maybe Mansour on the wing. But I honestly think it'll be the same 17.

As a QLD fan the back 5 of Teddy, Mansour, Dugan, Fergy, Tommy T scares the absolute shit out of me

You don't think Bird and Hayne would swap positions?

Hayne is going to wind up such a disappointment for anyone who holds/plays him

I don't think Jack Bird is very good centre, personally. Think he'll end up as a top class Greg Bird style back row. And there's no point playing Hayne on the bench.
If NSW want to be bold they'd pick James Roberts, but can't see that happening.

Eh I didn't get to see the first half but the second half Papa looked pretty ineffective. I know he's played in the middle before and done just fine so i guess its not that, but I'd still be tempted to put him back to 2nd row (at the expensive of Cooper i guess) and give someone like Thaiday a reprieve. Probably unnecessary change though and someone should just have a word in his ear instead.rhinoceroo wrote:

Well one thing the result of Game II did for me was assure me that so long as he is healthy, Tommy Turbo will play Round 18. If NSW had wrapped up the series he might have got a run but now there's no way they're going to debut him in a series decider at Suncorp.
Hayne was shithouse. Maybe Michael Jennings could replace him but his defence in Game II last year let Gagai get 3 tries past him. The game down to a missed conversion despite how atrocious the Blues were in the 2nd half and well yes some contentious officiating calls.
Best thing for them to do is pick and stick but take note not to let up and go into defensive mode for the last 30 minutes of the game.

Have to get rid of Milf this week, otherwise I'm getting an AE due to only having Munster there. Kelly looks to be a season long hold now, no point in getting rid now.

That pass by morgan at the end gave me bad flashbacks as a broncs supporter. Gagai was brilliant in his support play in both of the tries.
When is the JT statue going up in Townsville?

Good faaarkin morning all.
Still gotta give it to the Qlder's, it genuinely looks/ed like Nsw might be building a few succesful years ahead etc, but the Qlder's on the pitch pretty much dont hear that and play to the death. As much as Nsw lost it themselves more so, its highly impressive to me, an effort like that from Qld. Get faaarked.
I thought Cooper looked like a passenger most of the might, whether that was after the head cut or not he didnt look good out their imo. Wade Graham played like a man possessed until the last 20 mins when he had a couple of crucial errors/bad choices. Hard to say as a Sharkie ! His defense was top notch until a terrible missed tackle which led to the Gagai try.
It sets up for a stellar game 3, but it feels like advantage Qld big time after that collapse.
Back to fantasy, meh.....

As someone who would rather see the Blues win, I wish Gagai wore blue, the guy is awesome on the big stage.

Jackson played well but not motm.
It was NSW game to lose and they did.
QLD didn't deserve to win it but a win is a win and I'll take it.
NSW won't change their team for game 3.
No way Chambers plays for Storm this week. Curtis Scott in and Griffin/Smithv2 onto the bench.
QLDers ended up on their backs too often in the tackle. They weren't forcing the same on NSW.
Some poor calls both ways, standard origin. Nothing that directly effected the outcome unless you're a salty NSW fan.

My 2c on things that will impact fantasy:
- JT was carrying that shoulder all of second half. Champ was doing his best not to let the pain show to NSW. No chance of him backing up to play this Saturday. Hopefully he'll be right for game 3. Good for Laybutt owners
- Chambers got sandwhich resulting in what looks like bad concussion. Very small chance he'll be playing this weekend. Good for CScott owners
- CS9 looked pretty gassed towards the end there. If CS9 plays this weekend, can see his minutes get limited with Pudgy Smith getting some minutes in. Good for Pudgy Smith owners
- JWallace only played the opening 22mins of the game and didn't come back on. He should be fully pumped to play this weekend. Good for JWallace owners
- Teddy somehow copped a HIA towards the end of the game. He was taken off and was put back in during the dying stages of the game. He looked super anxious to get back into the game while waiting on the sidelines. He should be sweet to play his second game in less than 48hours. Good for Teddy owners
- Klemmer, JJackson, BMorris all stayed at an airport hotel overnight so they can get the first flight over to NZ to play again in less than 48hours. Not great for JGraham and Fualalo owners

Yeah I agree, Papa offered very little in offense. Looked slow, out of shape and generally disinterested. Thaiday didn't offer a lot in game 1 but he plays with passion and pride, Papa didn't seem to last night. QLD lost momentum once Napa and Wallace went off, something that will need to be addressed for game 3. Hess should get more minutes in game 3.
I think NSW shutting up shop (same as the Broncs in the 2015 GF) was the main factor QLD got out of jail, Smith, JT and Cronk didn't have a lot of impact until then. Morgan has a knack of making something out of nothing in the big moments.

So it seems like Laybutt will come in and Scott will almost definitely play. If I continue with plan of trading JDB to Taupau I've somehow ended up with 19 players this week. May reverse JDB to taupau to hold the trade up my sleeve.
