thoughts on captaincy/vice options this week. the 3 best/most likely options are arguably Friend, Surgess, Crichton and all play in the same game up first

Pretty sure he bunged it on to try and cover coming off for a HIA.

I like the bye rounds because I can cheer on guys I would never usually play like CNK or Burns. Also yeah it makes a big difference to sorting out the contenders from the pretenders

If Scott loses his place in the team after this week should I trade him to Turbo or Tedesco via Hayne? Only have 2 trades left so it's a big decision lol

With 2 trades you're better off holding fire. What if Chambers busts something a fortnight after Scott is dropped and he comes back in.
When you're down to an arm and a leg in trades. Sure emergencies only.

Hey Beast, you've been quiet mate. I'm looking at Surgess vc with Tolman as back up Sunday. I think Surgess is up for a big one against the Chooks.

Probably shouldn't do anything if you have 2 other playing centres.

Not at the expense of something like not counting bye rounds towards overall. I don't think something like bye rounds would cause a mass drop off. Casual players are going to drop off anyway, it's a long season and it's always going to happen.
I don't think eliminating bye rounds would cause a surge in player numbers either.
I'm sorry if you feel your idea is getting dismissed, I just don't think it would go down well. It would actually cause a diehard like myself to actually lose interest I think.

I think as people have mentioned everyones team would be even more identical and the comp is over by rnd 10..
Interestingly im a massive fan of standalone weekends for origin and that would eliminate bye rounds..

Do the major bye rounds discourage many players from continuing to the end of the season when they don’t score very well? I’d think so.
It seems like fantasy needs to encourage players to become more serious to play the full year.
So what do people think if this weekends and the previous major bye round simply didn’t count towards overall points?
Cop out. There were two serious bye rounds before this anyway. Winning takes luck.

He was definitely injured, its just that he was also in a head clash earlier. In fact people were bagging Raiders for abusing the HIA rule to check his knee... that is until he failed the HIA.

The thing is the way the competition is, it makes it likely people will still drop out. As mentioned it it would mean people's teams would be even more similar and teams that jump on people early would get rewarded. However it also eliminates any possibility of teams having that as a catch up round as well. It also adds another strategic layer to the game.
The simple fact is though the game is so time consuming and it can be discouraging and frustrating at times. We put in hours upon hours in the off-season and things can unravel and there is such a degree of luck that as the season carries on it can affect interest. Also the fact that it is played over 27 weeks of the year. Keeping engaged in it is also a problem which is why it has such a large drop off.
Anyway, anyone who plans to play the game competitively (Overall) plans for the entire season and plans for byes. Most won't be discouraged when something doesn't go their way. Otherwise I should have quit after Round 3.

That's what made it look like to me he bunged it on a bit. He knew if he got taken off for a HIA he was gone for the game. As a Croker owner I hope he's fine, but he was standing on the sideline with Ricky towards the end of the game so I'm sure he's sweet. If he isn't I'd really really like to know now, not next week.

My team this week with 10 trades and 111K. Only one trade at this stage and that's RTS to Walker;
McInnes Brailey

Surgess Crichton Fui Elliot JDB Tolo
Cleary SJ Lolohea Laybutt
SMat Kelly Croker Cotric
Walker Semi Edwards Munster Slater
Next week;

Week after;
Lolohea/Yates -> Cashout
Brailey -> Smith
Oh yeah!!

Looks about or just below average. You won't lose too much ground. Most are good scorers where some teams will have shit scorers making up numbers.

That's a strong 10, I wouldn't stress too much. We just need to hope Kelly can bag a try or two.
