Honestly I'm almost as annoyed at Scott's low score than I am of Smith going off injured. I knew a low score like this was always coming but you know most played him in spite of not being named in the starting team only for Fuimaono to better him with a 24.

He put 2 guys away early in the piece. He's only got one TB awarded. I reckon Sanjay was on the booze last night.
Lazy updates

If it was Ponga or Edwards they'd have given them 3 TB's. 2 for putting them away and one extra for swatting at thin air.

sigh you think you learn from the mistakes of the past. You keep Cam and captain for all but one round he was available (It was post-Origin against the Sharks and Griffin was on the bench, banged out 70 anyway) only to lose to someone who didn't follow Fantasy Rule #1
What an absolute joke. Oh life why doth thou mock me so? I mean seriously league winners and probably the overall winner are going to achieve victory, likely because they don't have Cam Smith?
What's next in this crazy world? James Maloney comes back from injury and makes 20 tackles without a miss? The Burgesses don't drop a ball? Ray Hadley delivers a great commentary performance?
These are dark times we live in.

McInnes, Taupau, JDB, Brown and TTurbo to come.
This'll be the start of the big slide in rankings for me with CS9 and Surgess to deal with and only 1 trade left.
Haha i have the exact same players to come but on 600 points. Hopi g for 850.

Although it has been discussed heavily it is interesting to note that Brad Fittler, Andrew Johns and Adam MacDougall have all said that Soliola should have been sent off. If they all agree that he should have been sent off and that it was a late shot, a cheap shot, then that's enough for me.

At the end of the day, there are various ways to play the game-stick with Rule#1 or play Captain's roulette; bye plan or best 17 early, etc...
I think if you stay strong with your strategy then you get the best result you could have (minus bad luck, which you have zero control over) over the course of a year, not just 1 round. You couldn't have done much better this year mate, and you have done better than 99.9% of all coaches this year according to your rank.
Booze is another prime example of this. Had 2 Rounds in a row where he absolutely got smashed even though he had a great team-averaged a 30000 weekly rank over that fortnight or something. Fast forward 2 months and that team earned him an 1100 and a Weekly rank of 1.

708 from 13, with Taupau, DCE, McInnes and Moses to play. Moved up 50 spots to 388 - hopefully don't lose too many today.
Still tossing up whether to play Moses or Semi - just got a gut feel that Moses will want to have a big game against the Tigers

I remember one year I played a H2H. I didn't have Smith, my opponent did, Smith was in doubt with an injury cloud. On top of that it was a Monday night match.
CS9 took the field and scored 80+
Evidently I lost that match...
My point... don't underestimate CS9...he'll probably play next round and confound the unbelievers

So with Smith possibly out for 4-6 weeks and with 2 trades remaining I'm not sure what to do. I can move Hampton to hooker and get Pearce/Cleary/DCE in, get McCullough, or I can just keep him and play Elliot/RTS/Hayne

Always remember; the people benefiting from high profile injuries, probably have shit teams.
Like me. Ranked top 7500.
No Cam, no Burgers, no Slater, no Crichton under a cloud.. Had to burn 2 trades getting rid of SJ and Merrin last week and I'm still stuck with Whitehead and Ryan James.
Want to trade Whitey to Vaughn next week, but with only 3 trades left and players dropping all over the place, it might be wise to hold.
686 with JDB, McInn, Taupau, Teddy and DCE remain.
Fuck playing Leulia over Hayne too

Thats the trouble with nrl fantasy, everyone enjoys picking a team at the start of the year and is fully into it. Then as your cash cows start making money you start putting together a strong team. But then the byes hit and some players miss more games than others and you end up making trades to increase your numbers over the byes. Finally when the byes are over you can put together your dream team but as injuries hit and trades run out people lose interest and alot of teams limp to the finish.
All part of the nrl fantasy roller coaster i guess!

Might hold him till game day then if he doesn't play trade him to Taumalolo or JTrbo.

Re: 2017 NRL.com Fantasy Thread Part 59
Nrl.com also reporting that Surgess has a cartilage issue, not a fracture, so could be ok to go as early as this week. Whew.
Sometimes this game is all luck. Was deadset on bringing Smith this week until the last minute, when I opted to trade an injured Merrin to Mannering instead.
Not sure on how important Rule #1 is this year though. McCullough matched Smith point-for-point over the opening part of the year, Tlolo has basically an identical average and Crichton is outscoring all of them consistently week on week.
Isn't Crichton's avg when he plays 70+minutes like 75? And he's never scored lower than 50 in those games.

It is a roller coaster, and that's why I can't NOT finish out a season. It definitely helps to have that 1 trade left deep into Round 24/25. But still, anything can happen.
Again, I'll use Booze as a prime example. Blew out to 3000 or something and I was around 500 when that happened. I am still around 500 and Booze is now 300 or something and finishing strong.
