Yes the roosters have club success recently. Club footy is not in question when it comes to pearce.

Playing at suncorp more often, more exposure to qld FOGS. Living in qld he'd be exposed to origin culture, both from players and public. Might just light that fire he's missed.

I’m surprised too. If the talk of Cutting Jaydon Nikorima saving $370k to keep Pearce is true then surely cutting Kodi would allow us to buy the good half of the Melbourne Storm team.

I doubt it’d help either. Though I guess you could argue regularly playing in front of a 5 figure crowd might help.

Realistically, being coached by Bennett & Walters would be about the only thing that would make Pearce a better Origin player if he was at Brisbane compared to another club.

a top 4 team buying a top 3 fullback and halfback in the same off season is a pretty frightening prospect.



looks like a clear cut top 3 for me next year (storm, cows and chooks), roosters look the best of those 3 on paper which isn't everything obviously but geez they look strong

Transparency of player salaries ala NFL needs to be brought in asap, i know it won't change anything in regards to scoping out possible breaches - clubs won't show the public anything that they won't show the NRL Integrity Unit - but maybe fans get a level of understanding of how the NRL can allow a team to jettison a handful of players that no punter would believe to be on anymore than average-to-below-average money and sign 2 of the best players going around to million-dollar-per-year deals without sending investigators to confiscate anything that looks remotely like it could hold paper in it.

The only benefit I could see is that it might slightly stifle the inane discussions from punters (purely based on speculation) about Player X being on $xxxk and Player Y being on $xxxk........

On the other hand I can see it would increase just as annoying discussions based on poor maths and idiocy but involving actual salaries....

Plus, we wouldn't get any published info of TPA's and this would then make those discussions even worse.

I'd rather TPA info then club paid salaries. TPA's are where the major discrepancies in roster strength come from.
