I think with the stats in that article they'll stick with Manu at centre for those people that are for some reason going with Mitchell

Yep, can't rememboer the wash up though.
Centres from good teams concede less tries than centres from bad teams.
Haha, I remember Naiquama was 2nd or something?

I believe so mate, last year his average minutes were down 4 from his 2016 minutes, I'd put that down to Watson becoming a more important cog in the team and having more of a role
Without him, its only really Radley I can think off who might have the same effect
Just revisiting this. Minutes being down 4 minutes, 3.5 of those minutes are purely due to the 3 minute concussion game and not the Watson effect. But your suggestion has still piqued my interest. As you say, taking out the 3 minute game improves his average by 2.6 to 52.8. From round 12 (except the injury game) they ran an 80 minute hooker for avg 60.3 (one try), 60.5 if you include the finals. And the year before avg 59 with much the same minutes avg 76. Do they continue with the 80 minute Friend? Who should I be wary of on the bench/rotation?

If I remember correctly nearly everyone that played centre at the tigers was in the bottom 5.

Esan Marsters was actually very high up the least in a positive way. Naiqama wasn't in the bottom 5 and Suli and Chee Kam were dreadful

Basically every centre that isn't from the Storm is a bad defender haha.

He'll play centre but he actually scores better re fantasy on the wing because he gets more tackle breaks running it out from dummy half with his wicked fend.

8. Packer
9. Liddle/McIlwrick
10. Matulino
11. Lawrence
12. McQueen
13. Taylor
14. Twal
15. Sue/Eisenhuth
16. Aloiai
17. Marshall
I don't see Eisenhuth starting at 13. Last year when he did, that was more because of our injuries in the second row rather than him outplaying Taylor. We had both Lawrence and Aloiai out with injuries and I reckon Cleary moved Taylor there as cover and not because Eisenhuth is a better lock. I believe he's still good enough to be in our 17 but I think he may play as prop otherwise Sue will be in the 17. Once again, this is just my opinion as a tigers fan
Yeah, agree this will be pretty much it.
I wonder if Cleary has contemplated switching Reynolds back to 9 and starting Benji? Left field but I actually think I'd rather that then have to rely on ET guiding the pack around.

Naiqama was bottom 10 though which could see Marsters actually start at centre with Milne. I think these stats do mostly follow the trend of best team to worst but there are a few outliers that are worth mentioning. Dean Whare and Euan Aitken surprised me. I thought they were two of the best defensive centres in the comp but they averaged 1 and 0.92 try casues a game respectively.

If Manu is picked at ctr then Ferguson will be on the wing not Mitchell.

Yeah, I remember Chee Kam. I thought Naiquama was as well? Maybe I was just expecting it.

So much talk about Latrell.... I admired him in 2016 but he was irrelevant last year..... am I missing something or are people just not over him yet?

Yeah, Aitken is a surprise. Unfortunately I think Marsters is going to have to bide his time.

I looked back at the article. Naiqama technically actually is in the bottom 5. There's a lot of people tied on 1 try cause a game down the bottom

Because he's better at taking the high ball from kicks re defense/attack plus he's played more on the wing than Mitchell whether it be the Roosters, Origin or Australia. As I posted above I would love Mitchell to be on the wing re fantasy but it won't happen unless injuries occur.

Re: 2018 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 2
I think the tigers centres defensive deficiencies were just a reflection on the whole team. Chew Kam is actually a sound defender and lets face it the centres were covering for Brooks and Moses who are dead set turnstiles. Bit unfair really.

True, I'd love to see how many try causes Brooks has

Chee Kam was a little disappointing in general though. I watched a bit of him in NSW Cup and he was looking the goods. That was mainly at 2nd Row though. I really thought he would come on for us, but as you say, hard when the whole team is below average.
