Wasn't that rumor about Smith the same as last year?

I remember some sort of similar rumour about Smith last year too.
Random thought re starting with Smith. What if rd1 team lists have little Smith on the bench?

I remember hearing last year that the only two players the Dogs refused to shop around (as they were trying desperately to get under the cap for this year) were Josh Jackson and RFM. I think they rate him very highly over there and I'd expect him to snag a starting spot soon, even if he's not starting come round 1.
I think they leave RFM on the bench to develop his game slowly and I think Tolman might move to lock as a straight swap with Klemmer.
Tolman's big motor will allow him to play 80 minutes !!

Where did the rumour that RFM will start in the 2RF originate exactly?

just a tip for team setting - if you run these guys youll need to start Lodge and have NAS on the bench as he has dpp, currently if a 2ndrower pulled out you would be replacing him with whatever 2ndrow is in your 18-21(if you have one) but if NAS was on the bench you would essentially be replacing your 2nd rower with no1 emergency(whoever you have selected at 18). This could make no difference or a massive difference depending on those players in 18-21

I've tried a new no-Tedesco team which actually doesn't look half bad
Smith
Fifita, Lodge
Brown, Murray, RFM
Munster, Cartwright
Aubbs, Milne
Ponga, Dufty, Hiku
Cook, Evans, NAS, Havili
Opacic, Croker, Butcher, Kennar

Shandon makes a very good point re make sure you have your dpp's on the bench as they cover 2 positions.
Also on Smith if this is indeed true & he's going through a marriage breakup/kids invloved/media scrutiny & backlash then he could be very emotionally drained & not totally focussed. I might very well not start with him.

In theory maybe. But you are clearly missing the very real and practical issue that Lodge is a straightup Shitcunt(TM) and he doesn't deserve to make the run-on side with my illustrious fantasy squad. Sometimes you just gotta draw a line in the sand...

Of course- I may be coaching my team from a Fantasy high horse, but I still have a keen eye for value!

If enough people refuse to pick Lodge in their fantasy team, do you think Bennett will cave to the pressure and cut him from the Broncos.

I should hope not, that Shitcunt(TM) is an integral part of my reserve bench

For sure. Same as Corey Parker using his fantasy price for contract negotiations.

Bennett pushed parker into retirement as soon as his fantasy outout started to slip.
Re lodge, i offer you this. There are a fair few blokes in the NRL to have laid hands on a woman in the form of assualt, but Lodge aint one of them

Broncos have posted their first trial team, it's probably not worth putting here, seems Bennett has tried to actively avoid naming anyone who needs 2 hands to count up their first-grade experience, but i'll throw it up anyway in case some-one finds an angle to look at it that reveals something i'm not seeing:
1. Jamayne Isaako
2. Corey Allan
3. Tom Opacic
4. Gehamat Shibasaki
5. Moses Pangai
6. Todd Murphy
7. Shaun Nona
8. George Fai
9. Jake Turpin
10. Payne Haas
11. Salesi Funaki
12. Andre Savelio
13. Patrick Mago
Interchange:
14. Gerome Burns
15. David Fifita
16. Thomas Flegler
17. Patrick Carrigan
18. Myles Taueli
19. Keenan Palasia
20. Eddie Blacker
21. Kotoni Staggs
1. Jamayne Isaako
2. Corey Allan
3. Tom Opacic
4. Gehamat Shibasaki

You are so right. I mean, I could never work out why attempted murderers even have to go to jail. Not like anybody got murdered in the end

What Lodge did was worse than what pretty much any other NRL player has done, with the possible exception of Robert Lui.
How he escaped jail time is amazing.
At least Packer served his time before coming back to the game
