As explained in the first post-we will decide on how to distribute once we know how much is in the pool. I understand that doesn't suit everyone and I understand why, but I would prefer that then have committed to a certain % for Weekly and Overall and then we only got 10 people and it was all just dead set piss poor. Luckily we have had good interest.

We really want to add a Weekly, however if that is half decent (say $50 or $100) then it dilutes the Overall winner pool to maybe $500, and in turn that doesn't leave any room for a 2nd or 3rd Overall prize.

Alternatively, we can put up a serious 1st, 2nd, 3rd Overall split (say $1000, $tree fiddy, $200). But that would leave nothing left for a Weekly. That is why I wanted to wait to see what interest we had, and also why I decided to keep rego open until Sunday-once people have got their DT/Fantasy/SC initial Lockout out of the way on Thursday I hope we will get even more interest in the coming days.

I hope that explains why everything was set up as it was.

tl;dr after I know what the final pool is Sunday morning, I will offer a few alternatives and probably even put it to a poll. Majority rules.

What if you split the season up ? Rather than offer a weekly Rounds 1-12 winner, 18-26 winner and overall ? I'm not in just throwing up ideas

Yeah, I was considering something similar in offering a Monthly Prize (best 4 round total) and then Overall. So 6 lots of say $100; leaving 3 Overall prizes of $750/$250/$100. Again, it really does all hinge on the final total.

I like this idea. Offering large weekly prizes in a group where everyone is aiming for overall seems counter intuitive.

Just to chime in on the prizes - if it is feasible, I reckon monthly prizes are the best way to go (on top of overall 1/2/3).
Gives everyone incentive to keep playing if your chances of overall look shot halfway through the season.
Nice work on the organising mate, looking forward to things kicking off soon

there's another fitty from me. 

i vote overall , no weeklies... as people who drop out of the running for overall can just modify their team to go for a weekly which is kind of unfair on ppl still in the running for overall.

Definitely prefer seasons end 1.2.3.... that's what fantasy is. But wont throw my toys out or anything.
