With these three especially, they are all either in a new team or playing a new role, or both.

Sure Whitehead has played a bit of lock before, but not alot. He also shifted positions with Crokers HIA and Tapines injury.

Lodge, first game of NRL in three years, intense media pressure in the week, and still only 22 year old.

Arrow - new team, new role. Raiders dominated the first 25 mins, and then the game flipped. He'll improve.

Completely agree. Lodge scored 30 and Arrow scored 33, both around 5 above their prices and Whitehead 49 (around ~8 above his average) in a game where he covered for both 2rf and CTR. Ludicris to trade any of these guys out.
I'm seeing a lot of posts that remind me of what I'd do 3-4 years ago, I'm thinking this may be due to a swelling of new posters as it's the start of a new season?

To be honest mate, Kennar's job security isn't that great either. When Inglis goes back to 1 they will no doubt find a wing for AJ. They have a few Centres looking for spots already so not sure Kennar goes to Centre. A couple of the Souths supporters have suggested this as well.

If Rabbits lose again this weekend then maybe they start looking at the changes.

People are trading out players who scored "bad" in round 1. It's round 1. WFB scores are so volatile, Sure Thompson scored good on the weekend, but what are you going to do if he scores 10 this week? It's definetely possible (Although so is 50 to be fair) Going to have a somewhat wasted trade on a player who isn't going to make nearly as much as you first thought.

Take the poster Blain for example.

He is looking at trading out Arrow/Whitehead/Lodge, based on 1 game. Let players find their feet, Most scores were down on the "regular" scores we see every year. Whitehead didn't play 80 at lock, Lodge had a bad first half, and not sure what happened with Arrow (Cant check scores right now)

Whitehead looking to play 2RF this week, maybe 80. Lodge will be better for the run.

Just seems like knee jerk reactions to get the player of the week in your teams so you dont get left out.

But hey not my team *shrug*

So you wouldn't trade in Kikau this week - If you read my posts that is what I'm trying to achieve. These guys might make $100k if they do well, Kikau is likely to make half that next week.

AJ plays left wing. Jennings is the one in trouble. Hunt to centre.

@Blain I agree that Kikau is probably worth the trade in for the money. But someone like Arrow and Lodge are most likely going to earn money, too. Whitehead probably stays around the same. Once Arrow goes to lock (as early as next week) I think he will score 40s. Lodge looks like he will play 60min for the broncos and his errors will improve ... he was the Queensland Cup player of the year for a reason.

    Same

I've gone SST to Herman and Katoa to isaako.

Reason for Isaako is he is currently cheaper than kennar and thompson but i reckon they will get to about the same price within a week or so of one another.

Interesting to note that Tom Opacic is named in the Dolphins QCUP side this week. However, all four of 18-21 for the Broncos are also named in their respective QCUP sides. So not alot to draw from that.

Trying to work out in my head if I am better to get either of them now or look to generate more cash by trading cashcows and risking them being even more expensive in 3-4 weeks nullifying any cash generation...What is the general theory on this? Go early anticipating they continue to go up or hold off until later rounds?

the goal is 17 guns. only way to get there is start milking cows or you will fall shy of that number (many of us will).

finding cut price guns will help you. if you have been reading, many think cook and ponga are cut price guns.

dont worry too much about guns increasing in value and look more closely at who presents good value for money.

MTB if you start from the bench you are eligible for QCup. This way if you get dropped, you’re playing or if you only play a small role, you can play. Mary did this with LLeilua last week.

Thanks both. My starting CTR and WFB are pretty much set and forget at the moment so I'm really just looking for a cash making backup with DPP to cover both positions in case of short term injury or suspension. Hiku could also be an option with better job security although the fact that Kennar is playing round 13 appeals to me. Can't afford anyone much higher (I'm trading out Katoa).

Ahh, fair enough! Would that then suggest that Opacic is likely to remain on the bench (and not a late switch to start the game at centre on Friday?). Ie named for dolphins because they expect him to play low mins for the Bronx?

Arrow priced at 26, scored 33 with -10 in negatives against a big raiders pack on fire early in the game in his first game after coming off an injury.. I'd want to buy him if I didn't have him already.

Really excited to see how Murray goes. 22 in 28 mins, hopefully gets a start this week and holds that PPM with higher minutes. Will bring in for Lichaa most likely (unless he guns it). 1 more Round 13 player.

@MTB good question. I have no idea what is in the mind of Bennett lol. I think he will use Opacic on the bench as last year we ran with a winger on the bench. I commented earlier that I wouldn’t put it past Bennett to use Boyd to organise defence early in the game and then come off. Then his return would be dependent on how the game plays out. This is all speculation of course.
