    Or keep Katoa for loop.

Last week loop gained me 14 points, by getting me Hiku over Thompson. This week I'd loop Kikau

Personally I am waiting and seeing on JMK and Robinson. I would rather focus on bringing in someone I know will make cash. Getting a look at these guys first reduces the chances of bringing in a dud and forcing another trade on them early.

That and want to see how well you roll with the loophole, and Kikau is the perfect style of player to loophole on.

If it ain't broke then why fix it. I not sure on either of JMK or RR & maybe use this week to see how they go. Your looping was successful last round so keep on going with it.

To get the points, you gotta generate the cash. Im not saying I like the Cook/Lichaa combo, but I think the premise of trading for cash early at the expense of points in order to maximise points long term has merit.

You dont earn interest on cash ITB though. So long as its sitting there, youre not making any money.

Some cash ITB is fine but a large quantity seems unnecessarily foregoing points. The players that make bulk cash cost nothing anyway, the whole game is picking the right ones

It's a balancing act. Picking up an extra 10 points per week now is worth more over the season than 20 points per week if you build a bank and wait until after origin. Thats a bit extreme but the point is valid.

Katoa loop 26pts for me last week and definitely doing Kikau loop.

I've done Croft>Doueihi and seriously considering Mitchell>Thompson again atter looking at last season stats. 3 games gk at CTR 31 50 56 and the latter 2 included tries. This season feels like building early cash more important than ever before

Do you really want to get rid of rolling lockout and be like EPL because it sucks

Loopholing can easily backfire if you don't take say 26 and alternative scores 10

Of course, but typically at this early stage, the guys that are gonna make the most cash are the cheap ones. Therefore if you are fixing mistakes (Aubs for example) and trading for cash, you are likely to be increasing your bank balance to optimise your future team value.

I agree with what you are both saying in the medium/long term. But in these early weeks, Im fine with a decent amount of $ ITB if the trades are sensible and the goal is to make $.

For example I'm helping with a team in the dream team comp. It's going very well. Money over there is roughly equivalent to here. We had >$400k ITB last round, and came close to scoring the most points in the comp for that round. This week we made two trades and still have about the same amount of money ITB. With all that said, next week most of the money will be spent to maximise points. My point is, while it's a balancing act, but ultimately you will not win either comp if you don't make $ early.

The two are not mutually exclusive.... You can have a rolling lockout AND at make it impossible to loophole!

Honestly, yes I would like to get rid of rolling lockout. With ranked subs there is no need for it. Looping is fun and all, but I'd rather not have to worry about it.

I havent thought about it properly but implementing this would be quite difficult and probably create other dramas.

Eg if katoa is your 4th reserve and plays first, how do you stop someone moving 3rd and 5th reserve around during roling lockout.

Edit: obviouslt getting rid of rolling lockout fixes the problem but thats really the only way

Yeah I do want a hard lock at the start of the first game. I set and forget my team, I don't watch for late mail or team changes. I have a family and a life and the prizes sure as hell aren't worth the time needed to invest in loopholes etc. I often wonder how I would be travelling position wise if this was the rule. May be run 2 comps with different lock outs ???

Now we have ranked subs I would also prefer a hard lockout when round begins. Saves having to worry about final team lists etc. Of course, I dont"t HAVE to worry, but since others are, it forces me to.

Okay I see I see. I get it now. I have Kennar, Havili, Croker in my 19-21 so might loop Kennar if Kikau peforms poorly.

The biggest irony is that Milch has always been the strongest proponent of ranked subs so that he didn't need to be micro-managing his team all through the week, watching out for updated team lists and changes. And now he has become the posterboy for looping, instead micro-managing his team through the week to see what one player scores compared to other possibilities.
