Is it dumb to trade Smith if I’ve got Cook to slot in and maybe bring in someone like DCE to move the pleb Carty to emergencies until next week?

This isnt Dave Warner ball tampering, its part of the game and is just another element of scoring. no different to selecting a captain and getting double points.
Do you guys go into a shop and pay full retail for an item even when its on sale ?
I thought maturity would bring knowledge. Nope

Like how you have highlighted the flexibility of my DPP players.
I don't really like picking Kikau over a player who is almost certain to post a decent score.
I suppose I could try and loop Kennar in some way but I am not really into looping and I can't be stuffed putting the time in to working out how to do it.
Kikau could just as easily score 15 again
Avatar bet he scores 35+. You’ll pass.

If it were part of the game, it wouldn't be called loopholing. Otherwise it would just be called insurance scoring or something similar.
Its fair to say a good analogy would be tax avoidance (or minimising if you're K Packer). People that are aware of how to do it, do it, take advantage of a system that supports it, but is it really in good spirit. Its not illegal. SO nothing stopping you.
Just to note this is about tax avoidance. There is no separate forum for that yet.
The analogy is OK, but in many cases tax avoidance is totally illegal, it is just hidden behind a range of mechanisms that prevent accountability and negative consequences on those doing it. This is incredibly interesting and very important as it is at the heart of many off the world's ills at the moment. This is something that is totally worth talking about. I am not a mod and perhaps this is the wrong platform, but I would totally get more involved in discussions about this if there was a forum about it.

I have based my whole game in the last 2 rounds on loopholing and have researched it extensively, testing many different scenarios. The optimal way to do it is to play the non player in your 13. The objective is to see 2 or 3 players play before making a decision on which score to get, not just 1.
You don't need to take good advice if you don't want to hear it.
You’ll fuck up soon enough. Just a matter of time.....and great fun for me.

A more interesting bet would be whether Kikau outscores JMK. I am clearly in the JMK camp at the moment and if Kikau does happen to outscore him the consequences will be minor.

I am someone who is very passionate about football (all sports for that matter). I love watching any sports that is on TV, especially rugby. I like to try and watch every game every weekend (yes I have a life). Playing NRLF adds to my enjoyment as I don't just follow my own team I follow the players on my fantasy team and hope they play well. With the loopholing, I find it pretty easy to find a couple minutes on the weekend to see "oh shit Kikau scored 15, lets swap Havili with TPJ". I also have some sort of invested interest in the game as I play it for bragging rights, cash, entertainment so I kind of find it interesting that I can scrap up an extra 15 or so points each week to get that little advantage. If you choose not to use it, be my guest, but what's the point in being butthurt because someone else is using it?
Because fuckheads are always looking for an advantage outside the spirit of all games. It’s easy when your whole life revolves around a basement. Not saying that’s you......but it’s amazing how many band waggoners claim brilliance, when (a) they didn’t discover it, and (b) spend every minute justifying their brilliance.

I have a feeling JMK will be one of those guys that just keeps finding his way to 40+ scores without any real pattern to them. One week a try assist and some tbs, next week a heap if tackles and an 80 metre run. Week later 300 kick metres and a bit of something else..
