Playing big minutes on the edge, spending some time defending in the middle and a few flukey tries off kicks. Minutes are going to be between 60-80 going forward but his role will stay the same. I think he is at/very close to his peak. Not worth considering as a cow but could be considered as a keeper

@multiple.scoregasms to think I almost brought him in 2 weeks ago *sigh* would you rather have SJ or Matterson in the halves?

You'll want both. Matterson perfect 14-17 material in a final team it seems.

Does Doughei get a 0 when he didn't play? Or a DNP.. Not that I care, I dumped him and Inglis. Inglis getting 24, including a try Vomit

Switched Captains from Cook to SJ at the last minute.. Bugger. Still have faith Johnson can turn it on against the Broncos, obviously, but 70 odd would have been nice!

I'd like to see SJ a few more weeks to see if he gets his base stats back or if he is going to be reliant on attacking stats. If he is kicking as little as he is now he probably isn't keeper material in the halves

I've been put off Matterson by talk of Aubo 2.0 and only plays 80 with injuries. Still the case?

Don't think it's only because of injuries, but it may still be a factor. He had a few consecutive 80 min games at SR last year and averaged 50 in those. Also played CTR at times and came off the bench, so it's still a roll of the dice.

If he has the occasional 60 min game this year, he can probably still average around 50, especially if you got him this week or last, but bringing him in now, it could still be a gamble whether he averages 50 from now on.

SST went down in the warm-up and Nat Butcher played 29 mins where SST normally plays close to 50, so may have affected the rotation.

Injury to SST might change things. He was impressive, the Aubbs factor was what scared me too, but I think he is almost a lock on the edge now.

I've posted this before, but as long as Aubs is on the bench, Matterson is protected from being Aubs 2.0. Its been shown several times this year when there is an injury in the backs, Aubs comes on in C, the backs reshuffle, but Matterson stays in the 2nd row. In fact its better than that because when that does happen Matterson seems to get the full 80.

As for what his usual minutes will be, hard to tell, and now things might change again with the SST injury. But previous to that Matterson did seem to get a spell when there were no injuries in round 4 (61 minutes). You'd think that's his floor though.

113/3. Disappointed I had to play Kennar with Surgess out. Hoping for some big scores from my forwards pack this week to finally break that 900....

    Matterson's 2017:

    21 games at 38.2

Started SR 9 times and played 80 all but once, when he played 66 mins and averaged 49.2

Moved to CTR for 3 games in a row towards season's end for a 26.6 average.

Other 9 games were off the bench to start the season, averaging 31 in 38 minutes.

I'm probably too scared off by him next week. Should've gotten him this week and Munster next, but I think I'll play it safe and aim for Pearce despite my dislike of him.

Updated to 259/4 captain Cook, Mitchell really starting to hit form now & was the most dangerous Rooster, Tedesco scoring ok & gradually getting used to the his new team, Kennar didn't really get many attacking chances. I know it's due my captain playing but rose to 337 overall rank after that game. If I could stay in the top 500 after the round I'll be happy.

    Who leaves for JFH?

    Lodge, Griff, RFM?

All 3 getting close to their peaks. RFM and Griff are pretty much 70+ minute guys so a better chance of getting those attacking stats.

Lodge would seem the one to go?

So with Gillett out Su'a probably starts & comes onto the radar but also Payne Haas may now get a bench role.

His stats last year as a starter were pretty average aswell. Definitely one I want to have a look at first.

Su'a only started once last year, for 36 points. Other games were off the bench.

    Averaged 37 as a starter in 2016.

    Better history than Gosiewski.

Lodge is priced at what I expect his long term average to be. His only score over 40 was a golden point game. Won't regularly get past mid 30s so I'd ditch him.

Griffin probably next to go. I'm more confident RFM has a big score in him so try and time his sale after a price bump

I'm in the camp that RFM can sit awhile. Low of 34 and averaging 46 while priced at just under 40.

Definitely getting a bit of a Felise Kaufusi from last year vibe, but only 1 try for RFM so far.

Averaging 10 points in RM and 23 in tackles. Very few negatives and getting TBs and offloads often enough.
