I don't think there's anyone cheaper that is remotely useful is there?

True that, nobody around that is any good until R14. Bit of a pickle

Foreword- I'm not worried about byes, just getting my 17 together and hoping for the best.

This week: Rein + Kikau > Fifita + Brimson ($680k ITB)
    Next week: JFH + Murray/TPJ + Isaako + JMK > Macca/Matterson + Turbo + Aitken + Gutherson (Most bank gone)

Alternatively, I get Fifita and Taupau this week, and swap the Guth trade for base price cash out.

    Team next week post-trades:

    Cook
    Arrow Fifita
    Harris Taumalolo Crichton
    ARey DCE
    Mitchell Aitken
    Ponga Turbo Guth

    Smith Macca/Matterson TPJ Martin

    or

    Cook
    Arrow Fifita
    Harris Taumalolo Crichton
    ARey DCE
    Mitchell Aitken
    Ponga Turbo Phillips

    Smith Taupau Macca/Matterson TPJ

Ah, beautiful! Someone else adopting the "F" byes strategy. Me too! Lol. Sorry I've missed ya the last few times mate but more than happy to have a good look for you now.

Personally, I like the alternative. Big points grab this week. I will however state that I am very interested in Gutho.

Firstly, Rein is a definite trade. Nobody bought him as a keeper and after last week he is going to bleed of cash fast. So that trade is sound. Kikau I will personally hold, don't see bench being a problem for him, so long as he gets around 55-60mins he'll be in my side if for nothing less than a solid 18th man. Borderlining keeper. If you want to trade him (there's plenty of people with that idea) that's all good, as long as it's for someone who will score the same or better or for a cash grab.

With that in mind, your first suggestion looks sound. I wouldn't say awesome purely as I see Kikau as a hold but solid for sure.

For the monster trade week, would you really trade Murray one week before he plays a bye round, regardless of your concern for byes? I think he's likely a hold at least for that week, and I would think he probably goes back to the starting side and better minutes soon enough, Anyone that thinks the Burgess twins keep their current form up for an extended period of time is looking at the Bunnies through rose tinted glasses I reckon.

Aitken is a CTR... Top tier but a CTR so you know what you're getting there. Also gives you a week to watch Guth. Speaking of a weeks watch, following next round there will be another updating to the DPP so may be worth a wait and see bro, especially if someone like Yeo gets DPP status.

Still personally leaning towards the FIFI and Taupau in this week option but that may just be me getting points greedy!

This one kind of slipped by, but anyone have thoughts on this? I've also been looking at Isaac Luke this week too. The two things against him, for me, at the moment, is that he'll clear a lot of the bank balance I was saving for some big trades next week... but mainly, is he too much of an injury risk?

If I brought him in it would be as a bench keeper. Is he likely to stay fit, or would he always be an injury risk? Already tried Dugan this year (and if I'd known he was going to be back later that week - or close enough to that - I'd have kept him) and don't really want to go down the path of an injury risk again. Is he one, or am I being paranoid?

Why a bench keeper? Needed for cover due to not having a reliable backup hooker? If I were looking for a bench keeper I'f be wanting one with a higher average than Luke.

Which option do you guys like?

    Sorenson and Havili out.

    A: Fonua and Crichton/Fitzgibbon
    B: TMM and Taupau

Think I'm leaning more towards A.

    Thoughts lads?

Personally neither bloke... I don't like TMM and not yet sold on Crichton. Fitzgibbon is good but not keeper level IMO.

Hey Mearcats feel like weighing in on this lot.
160k in the bank and ranked 50th so don't need to be crazy so I'm told Razz

    Cook
    Fifita, Arrow
    Taumalolo, JFH, RFM
    DCE, Matterson
    Aitken, Hiku
    Ponga, Teddy, Walker

    Smith, Kikau, Havili, Murray
    Martin, Brimson, Lamb, Sorenson

Original plan was to keep everyone who's playing and trade out Lamb and Sorenson

    What do you think pal?

Guth over Matterson for you mate?

Guth won't be kicking goals, avg 42 there last year which I think takes him out of the gun WFB tier, looking at an avg under 40 without GK

unless you are using him a short term R13 playing cow getting good (35-45) scores in the interim but upgrading later

Oh lordy no mate! Lol, If I could afford Matterson I'd go that way but I can't. Lol. He's outta my reach and also priced at his peak IMO, if I bought him now it would be as a season keeper but I have different players I'm chasing in his two positions.

I'm keen on Guth cos of his price. Priced around 33avg. Could go close to 40-45. He won't make a heap of money but he will certainly be able to fill a good utility spot on my bench for a few weeks until a couple of other cows I have mature and I can upgrade him to a gun HLF/WFB.

Alternatively he makes 40 this week and is gone next week when Brown returns. Just a thought.

Oh, still love him, just not sure the role he is playing suits him. I'm waiting for another year or two til he goes gangbusters. Gonna happen, mark my words. He's wonderboy! Just not in fantasy purposes yet.

You shouldn't be getting Terepo to make much money

The original plan is the right one bro. I know it's tempting to chase the frontrunners but people are right, now is not a time to panic.

Took a pretty decent downward bump in rankings myself last week but my only trade this week will be Rein to Guth. Not concerned about my team, with Smith and RFM now back my bench is again solid. Similar to yours, solid but not set yet. I need the coin to upgrade those middies to guns and won't make any money with big red dots. I still have Soro and if I can find a CC option will offload him (only held for byes but have changed strategies).

I'd be moving one, if not both of those guys along.

There may be chaps with higher averages than Luke, but are there fellas with higher averages than Luke (minus his injury weeks), at his price? Wink

Yeah good to have those two back there. Gives me a bit of depth.

I see your a Guth fan, as am I. Was going to have a look but think I might roll the dice on him and Fonua this week. Both should make some nice cash and be serviceable scorers if things go south.

Bringing them in for Soro and Lamb leaves me 100k in the bank and 21 green dots, hurrah

Ah, I see! Well then it makes a lot more sense bunj. There isn't a great deal of option out there that falls into that category and Luke definitely does and should garner you a bit of money. Not a lot though. If he averages 50 he'll only make about 50k in the next three weeks. I'd be more inclined to look at someone like Hipgrave, Guth, ET or if you like a gamble Lolohea. All in the same sort of boat as Luke either in that they can make some coin or are fallen gems with some upside.

Fingers crossed but i won't be picking him until then. Happy to forgo a bit of cash for a better look and a DPP position that suit the make up of my side a lot more than another middle of the road WFB
