So where do you think our other deficiency is in QLD stocks? drunken bounce  Lol. We ain't got many forwards. I like Napa, has mongrel and NSW always like to pick big boys, you want someone to go toe to toe with those types. I agree that he is a bit of a liability in defence though. Alongside Wallace and Arrow (the human tackle bot) I don't see that being a problem.

The alternatives are Thaiday (no thanks), Lilyman (past it) Bolton (wouldn't be bad but untested) Scott (past it) or a gamble on a complete young 'un like Offa, Sua, Jensen, Welch or Hipgrave or playing a secondrower like Bukuya out of position.
I was going to edit my post to say on second glance if they run 2 of Wallace/McGuire/Arrow you don't need Napa to be in on every tackle and hit up and just need him there for the intimidation factor and headhunting so in the overall balance he works there.

Probably the best option when you consider the lacking FR stocks mate so apologies

No need to apologise mate! I'm enjoying the convo, nothing else to do with my time! Lol. Been working 12-13 hour days the past week and a bit so nice to come home and sit and tinker/chat.

Personally, I would love to see QLD start blooding some of our young guys this year. Jensen, Su'a, Offa, Rhyse Martin (to a lesser extebt as we have a plethora of second rowers) David Fifta etc. We need to start getting some of these kids ready for the big arena as outside of Wallace an Napa our pack is fuckin ancient and ain't gonna be around for more than another series or two... Those two guys can't be expected to play 60mins in the front row in a SOO match, they'll die!

I think I'm settling on Taupau over Arrow this week. I know its extra coin but r13 is a consideration and Arrows injuries worry me.  Also whether SOO has an impact on him.

    Lamb > Fonua
    Kikau > Harris
    15 trades and 124K

    Team looks like
    Cook
    Arrow Fifita
    Jurbo Chrichton Tolo
    DCE Cogger
    Mitchell Isaako
    Ponga Turbo Fonua

    Smith Harris TPJ Martin
    Murray S’ua Brimson Thompson

Cogger to Cleary in RD14/15 is a go
Murray as a cash out if he doesn’t make starting squad soon
Martin may be a 18th man cash cow atm
Thompson can be turned into a RD17 FB (RTS) or Teddy
Brimson can plug away for now
TPJ, S’ua, Isaako can go after RD17 would like Macca, SJ, Maybe Ramien or Aitken.

Can't go wrong with Taupau Pain but you're gonna want Arrow sooner rather than later. Passing this week at least allows a look a SOO and gives you another able body for 13. Sound plan.

Wish I had of jumped on Ramien a month ago when I was telling others to do so and suggesting him to anyone that would listen... Now his price is putting me off.

Holyshitreally?! I did not know that. Thanks for the info, & Welshy too.

Well I guess Lamb joins the mass of players I have to move next week. The other I wondered if I could possibly hold onto (again, for pure fear of going through all my trades too soon) was Sorensen. But then I saw he is due back round 16, and even then, what chance is he to make the squad if all the other guys are fit? There's no chance of any redemption in holding onto Sorensen, is there?

I have both Lamb and Soro mate, as well as Rein. Was hoping for a trade free week but will need to make at least one with Rein falling faster than me for Salma Hayek! He'll go to Gutho and then deal with the others next week I hope.

Teeth Eater wrote:Are many holding onto Lamb? I've used way too many trades, including Dugan in one week out the next, and I am hoping Lamb comes back in four weeks or so to make a portion of the money I hoped he would. But by then is his money making potential kind of void anyway? Too late? And did I see somewhere today that Pearce thinks he'll be back early?

I dunno. Like I say, I want to hold Lamb (and the trade) for now, but is it silly to do this?

If he misses 4 weeks, he'll then come back for 2 weeks, and then have a bye. if the Knights played in 17 it would be a little bit easier to hold him.

No real tempting trade outs though. Hipgrave or Fonua? Maybe Brimson - and none of those bank a tonne of cash

Can't stop thinking about Chee-Kam. I am such a sucker for a second rower playing fantasy centre.
I might still get Dugan in this week, but if he gets a run again in round 13 I will be powerless not to bring him in. Between his job security and Dugan's injuries, together they could make one whole centre
    (or potentially none)

same, just want some clarification on Rochow, everywhere saying he's been dropped and the tigers say there's no injuries to report, but he's nowhere to be seen in the lower grades, surely Cleary didn't drop him from all forms of rugby league.

Is Olive really going to hold down the spot for 8 weeks while Morris is out? I am really grasping at straws for a cheap long term player at or below $266k. (I have Brimson and Segeyaro.)

    T. Maire Martin - Coote is lurking and could jump in at any stage. Poor base stats and will be with Thurston taking KMs.

    K. Staggs - McGuire is back this week or next, may get some extra time due to people away on Origin. Bird will also be back at some point and could end up on the bench or force someone else there.

    T. Satae - Looks to have found himself a spot on the bench now. Job security a risk. Not really sure who he bumped off, but scores alright in short stints.

    A. Don - Not scoring great, but good job security at least. If he was DPP I would probably pick him. (I have WFB cover with Brimson)

    L. Perrett - Position I don't really need cover in. Should hold his spot though.

    L. Brown - Covers the spots I want, probably goes to the bench when Koro is back. Will he hold a bench spot when Walker gets back? I have been burnt by him before...

Chee-Kam had been impressive the last few games, whilst Rochow looked out of form.
Hard to know if he got the gig through injury or promotion.
It is strange that Rochow isn't in the ISP team if he is just demoted for being out of form.
Would like to think if he has a blinder he would force Cleary's hand and keep the spot.

Was going to bring in Taupau but think it is perhaps best to leave until next week. He is the type to get a suspension just before a bye round.

I guess the main thing for me is that if Pearce is back in round 14 (that still amazes me), I assume it's Watson holding his spot. And whether Lamb or Cogger are fit becomes irrelevant, doesn't it? Being in it purely for H2H's, the byes don't worry me personally, but I can't see Lamb getting a start again if Pearce is back in round 14 and he and Watson stay fit.

Of your list, I'm favouring Brimson but my daredevil side wants to dive in with Staggs. I won't/can't do it this week, but if I need that one cash out option next week and he's still moderately affordable, I'll take a punt on Staggs. Just liked what I saw from the kid last week.

    I won't be trading Lamb out unless there is a clear cut good upgrade/downgrade out there. This was published on Monday;

    https://www.theherald.com.au/story/5419758/mitchell-pearce-the-seasons-not-dead-for-me-yet/

"But the 29-year-old playmaker believes he could be fit to return in “another four or five weeks”, in which case he would be an outside chance for the second game in this year’s interstate series (June 24) and almost certainly available for game three (July 11)."

Key words being "believes," "could" and "four or five weeks."

Hipgrave is interesting, their pack looks full strength I believe? His minutes aren't massive averaging about 30 points, so I'll probably skip him as a potential mid ranger for now. Fonua, he's ringing my bell though. Could be DPP soon and has big plays in him.

Likely make only 1 trade this week, maybe 0. Will save them for the next 2 weeks.

      Current date/time is Sat Nov 23, 2024 5:44 am
