It would give you one more for this round and one less for round 17. Seems sideways to me.

I mean you would only trade Matterson to somebody is playing round 17 right?

I cant bring myself to trade him right now. Maybe only Nathan Brown, but we arent even sure if he will play?

Never seen a footballer miss two games of footy after being hit in the head by a footy, unbelievable. It's seriously fucked me last week and now this week. Trade or Hold? Can afford anyone.

I’m thinking the same, trade to Fitz this round or Smith for the run home. I will get Smith next week for Murray or Terepo if it’s not Matterson.

Might go Matto to SJ next week and bring in C.Smith as well. Can't see any value in rage trading him for another player who doesnt play round 17 now. Just doubles the damage

Whether trading Matterson to a Rd 13 or Rd 17 player, they both miss 1 game anyway, so it doesn't make any difference really.

If trading to a Rd 13 player, then you're basically guaranteed to get their score this week, whereas trading him to a Rd 17 player, you run the risk of not getting the score.. ie. they get injured between now and then or get called up to origin.

I seriously have no clue what to do. I made downgrades this week so I can afford Murray and Griffin > Arrow and Smith next week. I only have 14 trades now so trading Matterson to Fitz helps this week but who knows after that.

I am worried Matterson's symptoms might linger and another head knock he could be gone for 2 weeks again.

Damn Matterson! My plan was to field 13 this round since I would only have 5 or so playing in round 17.
With Dugan and Matterson and a couple of origin bolters I only ended up fielding 9.

    9 players in R14 and 5 in R17...
I have somehow managed to target NEITHER of the bye rounds Laugh 3

You are using 1 trade to get 1 score from a player that doesn't play 17.

This is the definition of stupid trade.

Unless you deem Matterson a long term out, or not a keeper.

Very hard to argue either case.

This now means that Matterson has been scoring an average of 25.6 points per week for me. He had a 4 game average of 70 when I bought in!

    Seriously though, fuck that guy!

I have the same worry, and he hasn’t pumping out the highnumbers lately either (high 40’s ave last month)

Matterson's head and Cody Walker's silent decline have been a dark few fantasy weeks for me.

I don't think he's suggesting trade in a guy just for round 13. All else equal he's talking about either bring in a round 13 playing gun vs a round 17 playing gun. The later carries extra risk due to the potential injury risk between now and then, the former (e.g. Fitzgibbon) you know will play this week. Outside of that you have the same result, a guy that will play each week for you from here minus their one bye week (doesn't matter who you trade in cause everyone missing one).

You've lost me with that definition of a stupid trade. You're doing the same thing if you trade him to a Rd 17 player, but running the risk of not even getting the score when Rd 17 rolls around.

The two guys you mentioned, Cam and SJ, obviously not getting called up to origin, but SJ especially is extremely risky unless trading him in 1 hour before kickoff in Rd 17.

Actually, reading this Im not sure what you mean by "double the damage"? If you trade out Matterson, it doesn't matter who you bring in (in terms of what bye round they play) as both will play 12 of the next 13 weeks whereas at a maximum Matterson now plays 11 of 13. SO you are effectively trading for one extra week of scoring = ~50 points.

Yes i Understand that. So I refer to my earlier point, there isn't a player left you could argue would outscore Matterson, so you are using 1 trade to get 1 score.

Lets say you would bring Fitzgibbon, hard to argue he would outscore Matterson all else being equal.

It's literally one trade for one score.
