Anyone think that Thurston or Gutherson might be good downgrade options for Walker to start in my halves? Would allow me to upgrade my bench.

Looks solid to me. Smith will play one extra game and should average higher and he needs to come in this week or next before out of reach. The only risk is bringing in someone who might not play - like in the unlikely event he injures himself or has a domestic or something.

Yeah, true. I had Thurston the previous 2 seasons and he always finishes off the season strongly.
I know it was Manly but the cowboys have looked better the past few weeks.
