With smith being in most people's reserves it will be interesting who people bring in as a replacement.

I got this from the Storm site. It just shows how dominant the Souths pack was:
    J-Brom - 6 runs (45m)
    NAS - 7 (63)
    Finucane - 6 (46)
    Kaufusi - 7 (59)
    Hoffma - 9 (70)
    CS9 - 3 (24)

    Gurgess - 15 runs (163m)
    Turgess - 14 (141)
    Surgess - 21 (189)
    Sutton - 14 (138)
    Crichton - 13 (122)
    Cook - 19 (210)

Like any game it's won through the middle & the 3 Burgess boys were awesome.

Ch9 showed Smith in the dressing rooms after the game. He had ice on his ankle but was standing laughing and looking pretty casual. I'd be surprise if he's out.

They won’t risk him even if it’s just a niggle.

That's true, but Smith is like Wolverine, so don't be surprised if he misses limited game time.

So he's laughing & happy. That's poor form considering they just lost. If I was coach & I walked into the dressing room after a loss & my captain was happy & laughing I would not be happy. I would make the team pay at training for this with a real gut buster. Also apparently Smith didn't appear at the press conference, I think on the Storm forum they said Slater took his place.

I know a lot of us think Smith is a dickhead but this is ridiculous. He’s earned the right to behave however he wants to after a game. What I take issue with is how he behaves during the game...

Was I a bit harsh. I've never understood why players are happy after a loss. I remember a few years ago the Warriors played Penrith away & got absolutely thrashed & here you have most of the Warriors players staying on the field & laughing & joking with their mates. The only one that went straight off the field & into the dressing room was Mannering because he was very upset. Now that's the kind of passion I want from my players because I want them to really feel the loss.

Their style of play is so hard to defend the forwards. Rather than taking it up through the middle where 3 defenders can easily get a shot in they are taking hit ups 2 or 3 off the ruck then spreading it back to the other side to do the same. Makes it incredibly tough to get numbers in tackles which leads to quick play the balls. Quick play the balls with Cook lurking around the ruck is trouble for any defending team. Tigers set a nice blue print to beat them. Strong one on one tackles from the edges and dominate field position

I suppose that's why Lockyer was a coke head & A. Johns was a speed freak because they both earned the right to behave however they wanted after a game & in Johns' case before the state of origin game haha. cheer

Storm can’t physically drop out of the 8 aren’t they too far ahead?

It is a mathematical possibility. But they would need to lose every one of their remaining games, Tigers would need to win every one of their games and catch them up 200 points of for and against, and all the teams placed 3-8 would have to win every game excepting those against teams in the 3-8 below them on the ladder.

Not impossible, but so improbable it may as well be.

Does anyone remember when NRL website used to have a ladder predictor where you could enter your hypothetical scorelines and watch how the ladder would move accordingly?

I used to play around with that all the time toward the backend of the season.
No idea why they would get rid of something so cool and useful.

Fair enough but even without Smith I can see the storm beating the Eels and the titans
