@ nrl physio re a tweet from the esteemed mole
He reckons Johnston won't play due to the freezing temperatures in Canberra so the coach doesn't want to risk him. The cold makes it harder for the muscles to get warmed up & keep them warm. I suppose it is logical. He reckons GI will play fullback.

Reading a comment in sc addicts makes sort of want to captain Taumalolo because:
JT's last home game, they want to avoid the wooden spoon, he had a week off so he'll be fresh & lastly because the poster reckons he'll play big minutes.
The poster is Tom Sangster from the Daily Telegraph. I want to know why he assumes Taumalolo will play big minutes. Does he think this just because he had a week off.

Re: 2018 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 67
Thoughts on these options. Trading JFH to either TPJ or Marsters.
A.
Play TPJ in FRF
Cotric/Aitken as CTR
Play one of Surgess/Martin/Arrow (can loop)
B.
Play Surgess/Arrow as FRF
Play 1 of Martin and Arrow/Surgess on bench (whoever doesn't start) - can loop
Play 2 of Marsters/Cotric/Aitken as CTR (can set up a loop) Can pick any CTR under $622k instead of Marsters
Guess it really depends on how much value I think I can get by looping.
Also keen to not have to rely on Arrow - his post origin scores have not been that good so if I can keep him out of my team that is bette (so I can get all pissed off when he scores 82)

I like option 1, getting a free look at Surgess with Martin as back up is the way I would go

Captain Cook for me as usual this week.
Expecting him to bounce back after two scores in the 40s. Lowest score was a 49 way back in Rd 4 prior to these last couple of weeks with 47 and 48.
Copping a hit this week with Ramien out. My CTR cover Hiku is still on the bench, so hopefully Beale is a late scratching with his hamstring strain.

Thanks mate. Yeah Tom. Just trying to block an extra player of a team below me in one of my leagues so doesn't really matter but I wish I had a crystal ball to know which one will score more haha. I have a feeling Turbo may have blown his load but I really don't know. Guy got the ton so should be a no brainer really. James getting big scores without tries though too.
I think in general in a H2H decision where you are the player ahead you'd go for the player with the higher floor (in this case James) in order to minimise differences between the 2.
if you are playing catchup you'd go TTrbo and hope for the big score.
TTrbo is in pretty good form though so depends if you think that can continue or not. might be the case of tries being base stats. Who knows what sort of game the Tigers will put up now that they are pretty much out of contention (TBH I'm more confident about victory than if a win would put them into the

Hey lads, thoughts on the following trades? I only have one left so can only do one of these
* Ponga or ARey to Josh Papalii, Papa is a great POD forward. I would go for Holmes but I'm just short (I'd done the trade last week but reversed it when I heard ARey was hurt). Also considering Munster for ARey
* Ese'ese to Holmes. Holmes looks like a must-have, and Ese'ese is up against two good forward packs, so I'm not 100% on him. Could also sell Taupau to make this trade
* CS9 to McInnes or Holmes. I want to do this but hesitant to sell CS9

I will probably go Cleary for Arey but SJ is looking tempting. No Green and the Warriors tend to bounce back after a loss and I think a part of him will really want to turn it on against Cleary. I don't know.

Decided to go Arey/SJ and Martin/Taumalolo. Is the Marton trade a good idea? I really want Taumalolo back.

One trade left no cash. Very tempted to go Martin to Gallen, Gal has been going really well. Martin can do the same though and I'd be left with no trades. Smith a worry too.
Cook
Taupau, Fifita
Jurbo, Taumalolo, Martin
SJ, DCE
Marsters, Mitchell
Teddy, RTS, Ponga
CS9, McInnes, Wobbie, Arrow
Lewis as my only feasible backup.
Any thoughts? Other option is wait through the first few hand games to see how my h2h shakes out.

I think Martin is a hold, however if you want to trade him I'd look at Papalii and Cleary ahead of Gallen myself.

Nah, that idiot's lead is precarious at best. Very unlikely to be first after this week and has almost zero chance of holding on for 2 more weeks.

Just remember Gal just signed his deal for next year. Can ease up a bit now.Regulator wrote:One trade left no cash. Very tempted to go Martin to Gallen, Gal has been going really well. Martin can do the same though and I'd be left with no trades. Smith a worry too.

Thanks Milch. I am thinking James is the safer option. I can see the Tigers getting up, hopefully.
The other thing I could do is burn both my last two trades and either cash out Clifford, or swap Arrow for like a LAM to turn Reynolds into McInnes instead. That's tempting.
