Re: NFL Fantasy Thread Part 4
Last year was the 1st time I saw an NFL game and loved it and got involved in the VSDT fantasy. This year when registered for VSDT again, they asked me to put in my favourite team and I had (NFI) who to put.

Not the chargers bro, they are maddening to support, should be competing for titles but always lose with shitty things like field goal misses in consecutive games or blowing 30 point leads etc etc
Popular picks are teams like Steelers, Pats, Broncos
If starting from scratch bro, I'd look at a young team with potential and a good young QB, you can follow and know the players and grow with them
49ers, Eagles, Vikes, Rams would be some of my picks

I've been kinda keen on the Jets because of all the hype around Darnold but it seems like he's the first brick in the rebuild

I work for the TAB in their Granville office. On the roster there are day shifts from 7.00am - 5.00pm but I do about 90% night shifts (which I prefer) from 5.00pm - last race covered which is about 3.40am then about 30 mins to send reports. Love it....................
I dont mind my night shifts, its a lot quieter, just a bit harder to be away from the family though these days

I picked my team because i loved Texas and all the southern food when i visted the US. What other teams do you support in different sports and why did you start going for them? We can probably point you towards teams in similar situations

Thanks Welshy. It sounds like it's tough to be a Chargers supporter. Good luck for them this year.

Horrid.
Worse was 2007, best team in league, we had the Pats beat, interception in 4th QTR, then proceeded to fumble the ball on same play and lose from 21-13 up, tis' the chargers way

Sorry guys, but I think I overstated it. It's not for anything significant, it's just to start supporting a team, because when VSDT asked me who I support, I put down SF, only because Jarryd Hayne was with them. I'll probably see which fantasy player helps me out the most this year. Thanks guys.................................

Got to get behind 1 team mate makes it that muvch better, make sure you have redzone for the fantasy season, it's a game changer
I'll give you a team to support for the seaon, then you can decide for sure after this year....
Your team is....Minnesota Vikings
Good young QB
potentially elite RB
2 top 15 WRs
Great Defence

All good suggestions. Talking about the rebuild - you could go for the Browns. Have a watch of the Hard knocks series (I watched the first two on youtube) and you can get a feel for the team. Could be a real good story over the next few years. 2 years of woeful results on top of everything before. Helped them land a truckload of drafts picks and are rebuilding a decent roster. Should see them compete for a few good wins this year.
Always good to keep track of the Aussie's competing too:
Jordon Mailata is making a name for himself with the Eagles
Solomon Thomas did some time in Aus before being picked #3 last year for 49ers
and I just learned that my Seattle Seahawks new kicker is from Sydney too: Michael Dickson was drafted this year, killed it at Texas before ousting a guy who had been kicking for Seattle for 8 or so years. Had a really good preseason and is looking the goods.

Ok - how will Hopkins go this year? Is he reliant on Watson, or can he hold his own if Watson doesn’t come back from injury well?

Gun whatever mate, but reckon his TD total will be tough to replicate, reckon Fuller will get some looks with DHop in doubles most the yearBroncHose wrote:

Foreman is back soon and looks the good so run game should also be improved
Thoughts on Cook/Devonta?

I hate to say it, but gee the Chargers look all but home as division winners this year. A huge hole has opened up. Is this hard to accept Welshy ?

We are never good as favourites mate but never good enough to pull from the underdogs with a chance tag either. MaddeningRevraiser wrote:I hate to say it, but gee the Chargers look all but home as division winners this year. A huge hole has opened up. Is this hard to accept Welshy ?
