A couple of rumours true or false from nrlsupercoachtalk.com
Egan - "my mate is grounds keeper at Penrith Stadium & he reckons Egan training at 9."
The Surgess marriage breakup could have a negative flow on effect into the 2019 season
J. Papalii came back to pre-season training early from his honeymoon signalling a positive intent & attitude & a very understanding wife.
Eels rumour=Ferguson on the piss hard in off season
Wests forum rumour= ET may not start at lock apparently Maguire wants a bigger body there i.e. Matterson, M. Eisenhuth, Twal mentioned. ET has been told he can look elsewhere for next season because he isn't big enough. McQueen has also been told to look elsewhere.

Tigers rumour is juicy, Matto price tag a bit exxy if he gets the gig but Huth and Twal are both work horses, with a good pre season, whoever gets the shout would be a great pick up as a 60+ minute lock.

Will Fensom get a run for the Broncos to replace McGuire in the starting lineup, or will they give one of their youngsters a go. (Jai Arrow would be good for that position maybe they could give him a run)
Probably just fantasy wishing on my part, but its not that long ago that Fensom was fantasy gold

Matterson will be good wherever he ends up - his starting spot and minutes will be much safer at the Tigers than what he got at the Roosters. I haven't really started building a team yet, but he'll likely be in it.
How many games did ET actually play at lock last year anyway - he started quite a few at hooker, and I think a few off the bench. Will have to look it up soon.

I may be wrong here but did Mattersons scores fall a bit after coming back from concussion? Also if so was this performance based or minutes based? I cant remember

They did fall after concussion. It was a mixture of factors.
He averaged 10 minutes less per game (73 down to 63 minutes) with a few more games off the bench.
He also scored all 5 of his tries in the first 10 games.
But the 4 times he played 80 minutes in the 2nd half of the season he scored 72, 52, 52, 57.

Matterson scored a lot of tries last year, something he can't expect to do at Wests.

Be interesting what the storm do with B Smith this year. Seems too good a player to still be playing limited mins off the bench

Happy new year lads! Can't wait to waste an atrocious amount of time researching fantasy for 2019! Looking to bounce back from my 2018 annus horribilis. I've spent the last couple of months knocking over all those once a year a jobs so I can throw myself at it. Good luck to all!
