I'm not sure about SMat. I don't think he'll get a start in the centres this year, which means he'll probably be a bench forward....with a history of concussions Sad

Sorry mate, your'e right. I agree, this was actually a list of duds we've talked about the last few years. I had him. He was okay when on the field at 2fr. I held him all year because I ran out of trades.

I fell into the trap too. Though I feel he was much better as a centre than a 2rf. I may still consider him if he gets a centre spot. It'll be Ramien on one side, and I think one of Moga/Hunt/Ross on the other. I hope I'm wrong though. I rate Sione as a player

I think you're right, which means Sione, despite being a good player, isn't relevant fantasy wise imo.

For sure mate not being funny about it! He will need a forward bench for me to go near him being a pure tackler

Thoughts on Stimson? Reckon he goes minimum 10-15 points above last years average!

40+ average when starting makes him about 12 points under priced. One of my first picked and expect him to be in most teams

I read this on a Sharks forum but it's about Todd Greenberg. He talks a big game on nrl players getting into trouble legally or otherwise saying the nrl will will come down harder with greater penalties for those who bring the game into disrepute. Then a week later he writes a character reference for GI for his DUI & speeding charge. So what he's really saying is they'll come down hard but it depends on who it is & what club they play for. I think the poster has a valid point.

GI gets a character reference and Napa is potentially in strife for someone putting revenge porn online. No double standards there A+

I read this on a sc forum yesterday re the Raiders f/b spot. Apparently Oldfield has been training at f/b with Cotric on the wing & there was no mention of Abbey. Oldfield is only 307k. He's a handy player, nothing sensational but if he's going to play f/b then if you're are looking to play a cheap wfb in your 13 he could be the answer. The Raiders have a nice early draw so Oldfield could score 30's, maybe early 40's. Thoughts.
To further complicate this issue I was reading the Raiders forum & apparently D. Edwards isn't happy at the Panthers because the poster reckoned DWZ could be the f/b not Edwards although I find this hard to believe because Edwards is 4 times the f/b DWZ is. So of course the Raiders fans want the club to sign Edwards.

Enjoyed the discussion so much I thought I should join.
Lots of talk on Vaughan, Tolman and TPJ and undervalued props etc wondering what everyone thinks of Leeson Ah Mau moving to the Warriors.

Will he become their number 1 prop? In games he played over 40 minutes in (8 games in total) he averaged 53 points in 49 minutes. Could he be in line for a 50 minute role?

Welcome mate. LAM has always had a great ppm & the key is he has to play at least 50 mins to be worth picking him. The problem with the Warriors is they always have a 4 prop rotation & each prop plays roughly the same minutes i.e. 40 mins each. I'm a big fan of LAM myself & if he looks like getting 50 mins I'll be all over him but in the meantime I think he's a wait & see. In 2018 at the Dragons LAM was really hitting the defensive line hard & even bending the line on his hit-ups. Maybe that's why the Warriors purchased him because they don't have a prop who does this. Of course when a forward hits the line hard it opens up his offload game.

Thanks mate. Reminds me of Vaughan's move to the Dragons from bench role at Raiders to no.1 prop. Killed it that year before Graham came to the club. Hoping LAM will be the same as Gavet has left they don't really have any senior props. Lisone, Paasi and can't think of who else.

Few top tier guns I haven't seen much talk about. Stats speak for themselves but is there any reason people aren't wanting to include Fifita/JTurbo/Taupau/DCE/Taumalolo? DCE is one I could see being of interest assuming Elgey gets the 6. Most of Elgey's halves partners have scored very well

Good point but that year Vaughan scored a few tries but LAM is not really a try scorer more a high work rate grunt style prop & Vaughan has always had that try scoring ability. Also Vaughan went to a very good team in the Dragons & they had a lot of gun forwards which allowed Vaughan to play his game & the team structure also benefited LAM. Now LAM is going to the Warriors who have lost SJ so they'll really struggle attacking wise so LAM will rely more on work rate to score points because the Warriors will struggle in attack.

I think there is too much value available to make Jurbo etc a good pick. Im still tempted though!

Although Ive had DCE locked in since last season Very Happy

Good points, just looking at his stats though - loves a tackle break. Won't rely on tries as only got 1 last year. Fills me with more confidence than Tolman and just about everyone will have him.

I mentioned a bit earlier mate, for me purely because I reckon I can get some outstanding value out of the likes of Stimson/Gillett/Sorensen/Murray/Capewell/Tolman/ even the likes of Vaughan/Surgess that I can spend the extra buck on getting a Cleary and a very strong WFB instead of taking more risk starting cheapie backs and rookie half’s as top 13/17 scorers

DCE was the man to get last year when he was priced around 50. Now having averaged 55 last year I would prefer to take Cleary at a price of 51.

I'm avoiding Taumalolo because I'm worried McGuire will take too many stats from him.

I haven't looked into it in great detail, but I think the other guys are priced about right and they'll come into consideration depending on if the rest of the team structure allows the funds
