Re: 2019 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 3
Blair shouldn't play lock. He gets gassed and gives away penalties. He's better at prop. But with Paasi, Afoa, LAM, and Pulu, Burr starting would mean a 2 prop bench, Tevaga, and probably a second rower or utility.. Can't quite remember if Kearney ran with a back utility last year

Probably. He has to beat out Aitken for the centre position. Despite Aitken reportedly on the outer, it would still surprise me if he isnt starting centre in round 1.
If Lomax gets a wing spot, would people still play him? Bit more risk attached I guess.

Depending on TLT if Lomax gets the wing spot he would move to NPR in my team, if nothing else Lomax would make a great coverage player being DPP WFB/Centre.

Wrong. They chose to play Adam Blair at lock. and with LAM and Paasi at front row. I see Blair staying there

Ah, I agree it reads both ways. It seemed so angry at first. I'm betting MF thought the same. All good.

Re: 2019 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 3
It’s a matter of when, not if, teen sensation Bronson Xerri makes his NRL debut for Cronulla in 2019, according to new head coach John Morris.
Morris doesn’t hesitate to nominate Xerri when asked who has impressed him since he initially took the reins from Shane Flanagan as interim coach in late December.
“The kid who is jumping out of the box is Bronson Xerri,” Morris told AAP.
After losing four of their starting back five — Valentine Holmes, Edrick Lee, Ricky Leutele and Jesse Ramien — the Sharks will be forced into a backline reshuffle.
Matt Moylan will start the year at fullback and Josh Morris and Josh Dugan have locked down the centre roles, leaving Sosaia Feki, Aaron Gray, Sione Katoa and Xerri to compete for the two wing spots.

He’s a massive downfall if given the wing spot, we have to remember that he will be playing outside a guy who literally can’t pass a ball.

With a four forward bench at the Eels, do we think Brown is still an option? Have him in at the moment on the basis he plays Rd 12

He hurt his knee fairly badly in the off season and will be pushing it to get back for start of season as I understand it. He'll likely be under done. That plus talk of a four forward bench has put me off.

I’m staying away I mean he’s a gun but I’m worried about his injury in the offseason and his mins to start with. I’ll still want him but I think I can get him cheaper later on

That article on Xerri also said Flanagan wanted to play him in 2018 but he was ineligible as he hadn't turned 18. It sounds like he's a future gun.

White Lightning wrote:I'm really liking the difficulty of picking a squad this year, it reminds of of the first year a started playing fantasy. After that each year they made it easier & easier to fill your team with gun players & it was becoming like sc. Also by getting rid of a lot of the dpp frf/2fr like Arrow & Kikau this year you really have to do more research into the lower priced players/mid rangers that will be in your squad.
True and I thought this originally in regards to a seeming lack of top end DPP between FR and 2RF but Arrow and Kikau were no sure things last year, Kikau was base and took off, Arrow slightly more mid range but they were certainly not nailed on to finish averaging what they did!
Key will be trying to find someone similar this year in the lower $$$ regions
