Hearing Rapana is ahead of schedule - slated for a potential week 4-5 return which possibly means CNK could be under pressure to keep his spot if he doesn't perform.
Possible that Oldfield (who has battled a groin injury of late) or Cotric could shift back there and 1 of Oldfield/CNK miss out on the other WNG/FLB positions.
Kahu also under pressure to keep his spot with Clifford putting pressure on TMM, potentially shifting TMM/Morgan to the back plus he is pretty ineffective physically and injury prone.
Feel those two players are not worth gambling on for mine.

I'm not concerned by either. Both players were signed to play FB. If TMM was really an option, they would've saved cash and played TMM at the back.

In Favour of Shaun Lane
As starting 2nd rower he averages 48, and only has 1 score under 35, which is a nice base.
His big scores last year were all try assisted. If people are concerned about Matterson maintaining his try scoring rate this year, I'm not sure how Lane is immune to such criticism.

You should you at least wait to see if he gets named before making these decisions.
