Mate if you can I would drop Kahu and buy Lawrie. I know that means you play Ravalawa and are short for cover but that's Ok short term while trying to make money
Whether Lawrie starts or is on bench is neither here nor there, he is playing 35+ minutes for 35-55 points all season, and Host is the one that has terrible job security.

    I would start like this:

    McCullough
    Tolman Fifi
    Arrow Murray lane
    Morgan DBrown
    Capewell Nikora
    Ravalawa Hughes Burns

    Friend Lawrie Sironen/Garner/Mahoney

    Holland Host Keighran (Mahoney/Garner/Sironen)

I agree with all of that. Just short of the kahu to lawrie trade sadly. Only left myself 15k. Wanted a kitty but couldn't bring myself to drop anyone in my squad pre deadline

holland as an EMG would be pointless IMO. I think I'd rather bet against him than fence sit

I liked the cut of Rav5's jib so don't mind playing him and prefer him over Kahu tbh

Where would you go knowing all this? I'm still very up in the air over my options and have the most conviction over holland to lawrie and nikora into the centres at this stage

DT late mail - Dragons have Jeremey Latimore in some doubt due to a knee injury from opening round clash against Cowboys, keep an eye when final teams are announced to see if he is named to play or not. Also expect to see Matt Dufty take to the field sometime in the first half this week with Cameron McInnes moving to lock, Gareth Widdop into the halves and Ben Hunt to hooker. Josh Kerr is confirmed to make NRL debut from the bench with Paul McGregor saying he will manage his stints. Zac Lomax and Mitchell Allgood remain part of the 19 man squad with Reece Robson and Jonus Pearson dropping out of squad 24 hours before kick off.

Hmm...that makes things more interesting again.  Could Lawrie then move to prop? Even though McInnes to 9 if Latimore doesn't play, that's still surely a good thing for Lawrie.

So pretty much everything points to no trades this week. I don't really want Host (1 reason is that will only leave me with 48K and another is he could be benched or even out of the team by next week) and i can't afford anyone else.

I think its risky to make no trades, which I find a little ironic because IMO it takes risk to win this game but that usually means pulling trades early (rather than not pulling trades at all).

If all your analysis is telling you no trades then stick to it mate. That said most teams have got at least some improvement to make, so either you nailed it form the get go or you are blind on areas your team needs addressing.

The other thing I'd say is, because this game is so much dependent on making coin, particularly early, I think its far easier to patch up a poor trade than it is to play catch up if you miss the bus on big money makers...

    Good luck either way bro.

The funny thing is with that paragraph about the Dragons, if JDB were playing, I don't see him making way for McInnes to play lock regardless of how far into the game it is or if it's a planned interchange or not.

Have you thought about Mikaele?  I'm even tempted to punt on him instead.

That's who I am somewhat reluctantly going in order to be able to afford Bateman (was $5k short of Lawrie who I would have preferred).

Not much data, knowledge or analysis going round on him (small piece in the tigers fantasy writeup). So Im expecting somewhere in the range of 25 to 35 minutes per game and perhaps 20 to 35 points per game. Hopefully he hits at the higher end and then the trade will be a good one. Thankfully he has the 36 behind him to start so a little buffer on money making.

At 20s a game (which Im hoping is his floor) by beginning round 6 he's ~$300k (so ~$60k profit).
    at 25s he's ~$335k so almost $100k profit
    at 30s he's ~$370k (+$130k)
and 30s + the odd 35 he'll get close to $400k (which is probably his ceiling I think but would be a big success IMO).

I'll roll with him to enable the Bateman trade and hope for the best.

Huth is my biggest concern. Not sure what's going on there!

He looks good for around high twenties to thirty mate I reckon.

I am looking at him now but can afford Bateman and Lawrie so seems like the logical choice.

That cow playing high jump just reminded me of Matt Duffy (ex Storm player and ex NZ high jump champion) was GREAT under the high ball and a really good player for us. I think he suffered a long term injury and just never came back. Might have even been replaced by Korobete?

he went to rugby in NZ where at one point he even started to get his name thrown around in wider AB squad talk. But he must have suffered injuries in the last 12 to 18 months or so cause I haven't seen him on the park for a while. Dont follow it as closely anymore though. Good union player!

Gotta be honest, that's one of the more obscure attempts at giving a player a nickname that I've seen! Razz

Yup, a touch more $525. Although he'll be 'topping out at' ....

The rough and ready calculation is multiply the average by 15 (rounded up magic number): 35*15 = $525k (in reality its a touch under than but not by much).

That would be more than fine with me!

Lawrie is a better bet IMO. He should score well this round and with the 50 under his belt he's a quicker and more assured way of making at least $100k. I would take that if I could.

All that says to me is Lawrie plays first 30 minutes and is replaced by Dufty (with the whole 4 positional change thing and McInnes to lock.

Vaughan and JGraham in the rotation with Kerr and either Latimore/Allgood look set for big minutes. Will be funny to watch there pack if Kerr, Allgood and McInnes are their props and lock in the middle part of the game.

Lawrie will sit for 30 and probably come back on with 20 to go playing 50 minutes.
