I didn't unfortunately, a little pricey but they're my second favourite band of all time so a bit bummed about it. Just interested to see if anyone is going, not really looking to scab tickets

A mate of mine is going to Metallica with this missus. Not wrong about it being pricey. $351 each, plus fees and another $600 for 1 night accom.

Black Sabbath was only $150 and they're 10x the band Metallica was at their peak. Plus you've gotta make it through Slipknot before any actual music starts.

Opinions vary. I haven't gone deep with sabbath but Metallica have some truly mind-blowing songs that I could listen to without end

Yeah was just taking the piss about Metallica. Haven't listened to Sabbath much since I was a teenager, but still throw Metallica on now and then.

They're taking the piss with those ticket prices though. Someone other than Slipknot could've made it worthwhile.

Slipknot aren't terrible, a few decent headbangers but nothing I would want mixed with Metallica. Those masks creep me out too much as well. Korn comes to mind as my ideal alternative. Such a shame tickets are priced as such

Haha, actually I think we may have discussed that before, not that your Layne Staley tribute was a give away...AIC are in my top 10. Saw them once as well but when they reformed after Layne Staley passed away.

I may have asked this before, but did you ever get into Jerry Cantrell’s solo stuff? Boggy Depot was good, but Degradation Trip is an absolute opus  Love .  Rob Trujillo on bass and Mikey Bordin (love me some Faith No More) on drums. One of the original “super group” line ups in my opinion.

Didn’t mind Slipknot’s first 3 albums, but much prefer Stone Sour.  I actually remember jogging straight past the 10000 maggots watching SlipKnot at Soundwave 2012 (I think) to make sure I was front and centre of the 200 watching MachineHead Love  on the next stage.

Can't say I have but definitely will now that you mention it. Can't say I've listened to much post-Layne AIC either, Layne really made the band for me. Crying or Very sad

Metallica are great. Slipknot are also great. You'll have your whingers from both bands fans they shouldn't be playing with each other but people like me are absolutely delighted they're sharing the bill.

As for Alice in Chains, they're probably one of the best bands to have kept making music after their original, iconic singer passed away. No surprise since Jerry was always the main creative genius of the band.
Saw them a few weeks ago and they were great.

I still don’t think I’ve gone past The Crusade. My favourite of their first 3 easily, although I think yours is Ascendancy?

cheer  If you haven’t, like I was saying, give Jerry Cantrell’s Degradation Trip a few whirls.  Tremendous album.

Only other band I can think of that is still at the top of their game like Megadeth after 15 albums would be Maiden. Dystopia is an awesome album; Rust In Peace my favourite though.

I had the pleasure of seeing Megadeth and Slayer play together about 12 years ago Very Happy

Give this a read and if you have any super specific questions that come out of it feel free to ask.

But the only thing to know is that it's not an exact science. There is a "magic number" that you'll see people ask about that varies from week to week depending on how many points are scored and this in turn affects breakevens. The number you find on MTBs site is generally a fairly good indicator and won't be more than a point or two off.
