We resigned an already declining Boyd to a long term contract along with Gillett who is coming back from a long term career threatening injury. Boyd should be off by the books by now, he is a liability and no longer first grade standard.

His money should of been spent to sign a decent halfback. We could of really gone after Shaun Johnson if we lost managed correctly.

Macca is slow and his service is not great. His position would be less of a liability if we had him playing 50 minutes of solid defence with with Nikorima coming off the bench to add that spark.

I think we will still comfortably make the 8 but we won't threaten the premiership with the spine we have.
Pretty much. Harsh on Gillett and forgot Bird though.

I believe Boyd is actually only signed until the end of this year, with the option for further two years in clubs favour. (ie club won't extend).

If anything it gives me more confidence that he'll manage himself better so he's actually making tackles at the end of the game

I'll be curious to see how Salmon goes in this year's rendition of the Eels. He might do ok as a cashie, he won't be in my starting 17 though

Yeah he hasn't really been talked up much with Xerri and CHT being appealing cash-outs but Salmon could have good job security for the foreseeable future. Whether his scoring is going to be worth it though is another thing.
Took a look at his stats as an 80 minute 5/8 last year. They don't look good.

Last year Salmon played 3 full games alongside Mitch Moses in the halves, while Corey Norman was filling in at fullback, and Gutherson was a Centre.
The make up of this year's team is different, which could be good for his fantasy output.

I'm torn between him Carty and CHT. I think Salmon could do okay. Would be worried about a late Salmon/Taka swap.

    Looping advice

    A) Keep Bird’s score (32)
    B) Gamble on Sele to beat Bird’s score
    C) Gamble on Host to beat Bird’s score
    D) Gamble on Ravalawa to beat Bird’s score

Based on averages you take Bird. Otherwise it depends on your appetite for risk. IMO The safer risk would be Host, the risky risk is probably Ravalawa.

I'd probably keep Bird if those are your options. Ravalawa is the one with the chance to go big, but I think banking the guaranteed 32 is the safer bet.

    Cheers boys.

I’ll keep Bird’s score, not really a risk taker

So glad I got Teddy at a good discount this week.
A bit bummed that Crichton has bottomed out already after last night's effort. I won't be picking him up this coming week as I need to fix my FRF first. RJames is the first potential target for me, depending on how he goes tonight.
It looks like Ponga and Crichton will be on the cards for the following week, not sure if I'll have enough cash to get both though

Just something to ponder is round 12. I know these are trying times atm with all the injuries & trying to upgrade to solid scorers but I see a lot of round 12 players getting sold & a lot of non round 12 players getting purchased.
