Trade Targets - Round 5

0k in the bank so all trades need to fund themselves right now.

There has been a lot of great discussion in the thread already and its all been mostly along the same lines. Thanks @Rippin and Tearin and @Milchy for the detailed input.

My personal thoughts are:

I think a rising, rd 12 playing Bateman is a priority over Ponga and while Okkie has a great BE he doesn't help our team like CHT would as a HLF.

In terms of tradeouts I like having the loops there for our weak 3rd WFB spot and our weak halves. Ideally we get Ponga next week to avoid the need for this and we see how it goes from there. Personally I'd trade Macca and Lane as under performing middies but there are many a case could be made for almost anyone I have listed.

Anyways let me know what you think and we will sort out captains/lineup tomorrow.

Not sure if the cash allows but voted for Macca and Lane our for Bateman and Crichton in.

May be better picking the me of the 2 and grabbing a cashie though this week on second thoughts

0K in the bank means we are about 100k short of that dream unfortunately. Who do you think is more important?

I think we need to make sure we at least have 3 NPR spots that are generating cash. Currently with Brown and Burns there I have concerns we won't be able to generate enough cash. Therefore my vote is Bateman and Okie in (2 round 12 players) for Macca and Burns!

Then I would look at bringing in CHT or the next best CC next week along with another gun upgrade (prob Ponga)

By the way, I do think we need to take a serious look at Tolman. I know we traded him out, but we can't change that. But if we are looking at value guys that will play 12, he could be one. I think having one more look at him this round would be good, but in short, he now appears to have the role and output that we initially purchased him for so logic dictates we should at least seriously consider him again.... surely

I haven't voted yet because I am still undecided on 2nd trade, but McCullough to Bateman will be one of my votes.

Still trying to work out if Okonbur is going to be worth it or not for 2nd trade.

I know there are issues in trying to look three rounds out, but if you could and considering all else equal, if you didnt grab Okonbur, what would the plan be. Im open to all ideas, but struggling to get me head out of the one I've proposed already. I'd change my vote for sure if I could be convinced another plan was better.

Below applies to both my own team and the community team

If I don't grab Okonbur, it will be because I don't think he represents long term value and would be unlikely to get him at all. His ISP stats are nothing flash (and never having seen him play before, stats are all I have to go off), so trying to work out if his first grade appearances are a short term thing or whether it represents improvement as a player.

If he can maintain an average around the 35+ range, then he's excellent value, but if he averages 30 (his ISP average) then he's a good pickup but hardly essential.

I have some concerns about CHT's long term average as well, but he has the benefit of covering HLF which is more useful for both my team and community team.
