Burns won't be back next week mate.

I had the C on Nikora earlier this week but got scared and changed it to Taupau because he seemed the 'safest' option. After the first half of the Sharks/Panthers I thought I had dodged a bullet. In the second half I was kicking myself.

With all the big scores this round, I'm about 90% sure that Taupau is going to completely underwhelm.

I think the weather if it is set to rain might help Ponga - he doesn't have the fear of serious re-injury like Teddy so might make him more slippery

Can see it being similar to Titans v Panthers - very high scoring and defence being optional

Just wishful thinking on my part. I'm just hoping he is back in time for the bye rounds so I can make use of his scores and cash

You can stop assuming because a TS can be, repeat CAN BE allocated from the field of play. There have been 2 clear incidents I watched in the first few rounds where somebody, (can't directly remember who) tackled an opponent before the try line and was awarded a TS. Cooky got plenty of help in his try save and was probably judged just to be a tackle by 4-5 people instead of being a TS. The ones I saw and deleted from memory where like 1 on 1 tackles. I'll be racking my brain for the rest of the day trying to remember the players now.

Have been keeping an eye on Capewell the past couple weeks.
Noticed on occasion he has been helping out in the middle (when on defense) to probably help share the workload due to the injuries.
So this stacks up with your tackle count observation

Yeah I noticed that re Capewell defending in the middle. He made a couple of tackles & I thought to myself is he playing in the middle as well. People wrote him off but his low scores were a result of a back getting injured in those games.

yeah, seems he might have been playing a lock role at certain times? Or he's just reading the defence and getting in the middle and putting in the work. Probably knows he's the one going back to the bench when Graham returns so he's pleading his case.

    Is there an anti-rain dance?

that sounds good mate. And I'm way ahead of you on the rain dance! Laughing

I agree mate I think it's the Graham factor with Capewell. He's fighting for his starting spot & it has brought out the best of him in the last 2 games & he's been one of the Sharks best with his workrate & attitude. You'd say he'll be back to the bench but he could be used in the middle & maybe they're giving him time there to help hin get used to it. Or drop Gallen to the bench & he can replace Woods in the frf rotation. I think Capewell would do well at starting lock.

Go the Raiders. They have always been my 2nd team behind the mighty Doggies because they always had a few Kiwis in the team plus Clyde was one of my favourite players.

Geez I only have 1 player (Lawrie) today in the 2 games. The 35-40 point range I'd accept but I really want him to score in the 40-45 points range. If there is another injury in the forwards then with the extra minutes his score should be in the 50-55 points range.

418(c)/6 but on the nrl stats Tedesco is downgraded to 32 so it might be 415(c)/6

They never give those try savers.

if i remember correctly you also FLOGGED us round 1 in both 2013 and 2018... and we saw what happened in those seasons... so at this point i welcome round 1 floggings from souths lol

Following that line of thinking, I’m glad you won in 2018, because look what happened in 2014. Lol.

Seriously though, using last night’s games to claim the higher ground is pretty silly when the Dogs took the Storm to 2 points at AAMI Park a fortnight ago. They aimed up and it was obvious the NRL and the refs didn’t want a blowout on Good Friday. This time last year, when the ruck was being heavily policed, Souths looked unstoppable and the chooks were average. Look who ended up Premiers. A big factor being the refs policed the wrestle all year, then stopped during the finals. That suited the Storm (who made the final only by golden point at AAMI Park) and the Chooks. Seibold didn’t adjust his game plan and we saw the result. Souths are getting used to a new coach, with a different style, who won’t make that same mistake. It’s a marathon, not a sprint. There’s plenty of improvement in them. Up the Rabbits and fuck the Roosters. Razz

Any word on Havali’s injury? I don’t want Horsey being a late inclusion.
