Re: NRL Fantasy 2019 Part 40
My Dad (who I generally only take in about 10% of what he says as he speaks so much shit) says he has been hearing Slater wants to come out of retirement. Been training with St. Kilda and is as fit as he has ever been and wants to compete again. Take this with the biggest grain of salt you will ever see!!!

@WT2K your injury updates and late mail news is first class mate. Almost deserve your own thread like Pacey!
In other news - got a flight from TSV to BRIS tomorrow (1hr 45) anyone have any good shows on netflix to get stuck into? Been needing something in between Game of Thrones every week.

Re: NRL Fantasy 2019 Part 40
Spent the morning sitting around pondering a strategy to move forward. First time ive don't his any detail, so would appreciate any thoughts people may have. The general approach is:
1: Identify keepers
1a: pat yourself on the back for choosing such awesome keepers
2: From remaining players, identify who plays rd 12.
3: Work out targets for rd 12 (must be either keepers or rd12 cows you'll milk prior to rd16)
4: Make targets using non r12 players that are not keepers
Current team: (Keepers bolded)
Cook
Fifita, Vaughan
Murray, Arrow, Garner
Morgan, Carty
Bateman, Nikora
Ponga, RTS, CNK
Mahoney, Rein, Haas, Lawrie
CHT, Sivo, Xerri, Mikaeli
Will hold Rein, Carty, Sivo until after first bye.
Between now and rd 12. Ill use Garner, Lawrie, Morgan, CHT/Xerri/Vaughan (if I'm short of funds, which I probs will be) to bring in Arey (rd8/9), Tolo (rd 10) and Taupau (rd9) and a 212k player or two (ideally ones who will play rd 12)
This seem logical?

nrlphysio is gunna love that tweet, i've noticed it's a pet peeve of his when journalists report 'syndesmosis' like it's a condition when it's actually the name of the joint in the ankle that has been injured.
Pisses me off too. It's like it's a flesh eating disease
Not much worse than Gus Gould or Anasta trying to diagnose injuries during commentary too when they've got NFI

Burns -> Tedesco
Lawrie -> Player worth less than $290k
Really stuck on trades and only $45k in reserves
I would probably do this one, rather than trade out Burr/Arrow/Morgan.
Waddel is an excellent player but with AFB back his minutes drop back again. Jake T, Thompson, and Sironen play 80 minutes every week, so Waddell will only get 35-40 mins behind AFB and Taupau without injuries.
Appreciate the reply MTB, yeah it makes sense to not worry about grabbing Waddell.
Not many options at less than $290k so would appreciate every ones thoughts on who to grab at this price.

Seve or Flanagan could be worth a punt.
There are rumours that Curtis Scott "has played his last game" for the Storm. To be taken with a grain of salt.

You're all going to break him! <3
Honestly not sure if I would bring him in myself. I went him over Carty who was flavour of the month AND NOW YOU'RE ALL COMING CRAWLING BACK (at least this is how it's happening in my mind).
In all honesty, I do love watching him play even if he has that gross bird emblem on his chest.

I think some special dispensation could be afforded by your avatar supplier? Hit him or her up.

It seems every year the injuries get worse with more players going down. It's all the training & body size increase. 10 years ago a league players body was like a toyota, nothing flash, gets knocked around a lot but starts every time. Now their bodies are like Ferrari's where your waiting a couple of weeks before you get the spare part in to fix it. The current players are built like a brick shit-house & so finely tuned any little thing can be a problem on the injury front.
I remember one of the Warriors trainers talking about Nate Roache with this exact analogy pre-season, saying he needs very careful management because his playing style is so hard and fast that he breaks down a lot.
Mannering was our Toyota. Roache is our Ferrari.
Tevaga is our Evo - great output for a little thing, pretty reliable
Luke is our Commodore - most of the oldies remember it being great but its clinging onto past glory these days.
RTS is our GTR. Still the best most reliable thing going around.
Blair is our Lada - This thing still exists? People keep buying it?
