Those filters are what make the SMH/NYT relatively reliable, just like with Cell/QJE/PNAS. Sure, absolute reliability doesn't exist, but that's the nature of reality. Good enough filters are good enough.

I recall at least one journo who would turn up every now and then with great information and then there was another aspiring sports journo Bronco fan who was a bit of a dork to be honest. I can't remember the name of the first guy and you're definitely not the latter! Good to have some people around who know the role a bit.

There was Gramsy who lived in Brisbane and was the aspiring sports journey.
The other guy I think lived in Townsville? He covered QLD a lot and he was the guy who tried to give JT some maccas when he was coming out of the cell.
