Yeah mate the one and only John Bateman has a BE of 77. Has managed 80+ twice this year. If we don't include the game he got injured he has a 28.5% chance of getting his BE. If he gets his injury adjusted average of 63 we could expect him to lose around 20k or so closer to 30k if he only gets a 50 which he has done in 4 games this year.

I'm just taking the piss mate.  Yeah if he goes back to lock or even second row, I think picking him back up straight away is not a problem.  I'd probably wait just to make sure he's back to full strength but can't blame people for jumping straight back on.

In all my years of playing Fantasy I can recall only a handful of times I've actually played a winger by choice and not out of injury necessity. You're so confident they'll have a boom game, they never see the damn ball and you get a 20. You bench them for safety, they get 70. No winning.

I'm pretty sure I played Cotric in 2017 as a scorer for quite a while though. Got some pretty safe numbers through lots of tackle breaks if I recall.

I think if I pick up Tapine in R12 for Carty (under 500k, 200k+ discount on starting price) I probably won't pick up Bateman straight away and will wait to 4 trade round in R14

I know man, i'm honestly just trying to justify to myself why i won't get him straight away! I have plenty of coin but it might be about to get stretched pretty thin over the next couple weeks...god forbid someone else gets injured..touch wood..

I'm not backing Carty this week after K was forced into a corner thanks to everyone else just messing with my votes.

So go with Sivo, just so someone else isn't playing Carty.

(Genuinely though going with Carty is banking 30-40 points. What would suck more losing 30 points by not playing Sivo or seeing a score of 11 in your team by playing him.)

I love Nick Cotric and hope he does scrape an outside back spot in origin but an average of 31 in last 4 matches, playing every minute. I’m not buying. Certainly not one of my last 18 trades anyway!

I’m not a big believer in the modern game that centre delivers more upside than wing, as the latter is often hitting the ball up early in the count if not kick returning

random question of the day, are Herbert and Staggs same side or opposite side this week?

Bateman news IF TRUE (Mole) means might trade Arrow to Tapine pre-byes to build up to 750-800k bank. Enough to move my first bye boys of Rein/Surgess/Carty/Sivo/CNK to CS9/Matterson/SJ/Bateman/RTS over rds 13 & 14. Think that mitigates losing an Origin-knackered Arrow.

No massive hopes for Tapine himself, worst case gives me a couple of scores and makes a bit of cash before being upgraded himself, but does have possibility of being 18th man keeper if injury free. Certainly the type of boom player who's good as first look in a loop if the fixtures fall that way.
