Pretty much DCE vs Milf - Also is there anyone above Carrigan you would prefer with the money I have left over?

Could also bite the bullet and grab SJ, this would allow me to grab Watson over Carrigan.

    Rabbit’s Roundup
First of all, the important stuff. I know Milchy will love this. Picked up a new boat yesterday for mainly inshore and bay stuff. A Polycraft 4.1 powered by a 40hp etec.  Nice unit. Putting in a MotorGuide xi5 electric and a live well today, and taking her away to Kauri Creek tomorrow for a 3 dayer with the fishing club, so I’ll be missing games galore. In other words, the wily old Rabbit needs to be very shrewd this week with the trades, because there’ll be no opportunities for late changes. This is what fucked me up the freckle last year.

Currently resting at 157th.....thanks Deardon, you little pea hearted maggot Laughing

So, only two very pointed trades this week. Two R16 guns. Fuck stuffing around with spuds like Watson and the like.

Reyno > RTS, with Ponga sliding into the halves.
    Mahoney > Smith

Leaves 13 trades. Probably too many, but I just don’t see any other worthwhile replacements, without straight sideways trades. They’ll pop up closer to R16 and having the luxury trades will enable some trade-backs, like Reyno, Twal. I’m still thinking about punting JFH, but want to give him  another week. I could be convinced though as he doesn’t play 16. Just don’t see anyone saying ‘pick me’.

Anyway, here’s the mighty Gumbies this week. Read it and weep suckers.

    Cook, Smith, Mcinnes
    Fifita, Haas, Taupau
    Murray, Lolo, JFH, Havili
    Milf, Ponga
    Bateman, Nikora
    RTS, CNK, Sivo

    Garrick, Horsehead, Deardon, Brittain.

That’s 1200 points there. Have a nice day

I agree with all the good stuff, gotta love a new vessel

Yeah halves are a little tough at this stage I reckon, no one really standing out. Would say DCE is a little safer than milf.

Yeah I remember the injury happening really early in the game. Teammate threw a hospital pass on their own goal line and ARey got twisted pretty bad in the tackle and got up clutching his back and moved behind the play with the medic. I thought he looked gone for the game.

Mate of mine that wasn't watching and had him all year was talking shit about him being soft when he was ruled out later, and despite me saying he's made of glass prior to last year, I had to stick up for him when the injury was revealed Laughing Whoever had him should appreciate what he did score that bye round, because it would've been around 0 if he didn't tough it out.

The bunnies only play 1 game in the next 3 weeks though, so not all bad

This isn't a bad point, but if he misses that game it means he doesn't actually play again until round 17.

For me, that is too long to hold. Holding anyone with a back injury just seems risky, and they have no real need to rush him back.

He becomes J Trbo, or R Matterson. That itself is a really tough choice. J Trbo feels safer, but definitely misses round 16. RMat is touch and go for round 16, really hard to say what will happen with the Blues. He will probably be 18th man again to be honest. But will JTrbo get a rest in round 17? He didn't rest any games last year, though he is playing a bigger role for the Blues this season..

Second trade, I'm going to punt Havili for Staggs. I think he's the best of the cheap pick right now that A) play round 16, B) has job security, and C) holds some reasonable scoring potential as a back up player for the run home. I just can't bring myself to kill a position with someone like Carrigan right now. I'll likely bring Carrigan in for round 16 anyway, but will assess the cheapest options when that time comes.

    DCE avg 59.8 x 11 games = 657.8

    Milf avg 54.5 x 12 games = 654

Based off this theory DCE will score more; however, I find it hard for DCE to maintain a 59.8 average whereas Milf has more chance maintaining a 54.5 average and DCE may also miss 2 more games instead of just the 1 (R16 and may be rested R17) putting that total score to 598.

Solid team, Rabs. With a few more upgrades you'll be well on your way and 13 trades is ridiculous. You should storm home in the late rounds when every man and his dog goes down with ankle sydismosis or whatever the fad injury is at the time.

Differences between your team and mine:

    17:
    JFH, Milford, CNK, Sivo
    vs
    Martin, Pearce, Tedesco, Cleary

    18-21:
    Garrick, Horse
    vs
    Lomax, Xerri

No interest in CNK to Teddy or are you waiting til after origin?

Over the next couple of weeks I would look at ditching Tolman, JFH, Reynolds, Havili, Xerri
    with
Smith, Bateman, DCE, McInnes the trade in targets.

That gives you a near perfect final 16, but would need to find a bit of cash with your last few trades to get a 17th man.

Alternatively sacrifice someone like McInnes/DCE to get 3 slightly cheaper players to round out your 17
    People like SJ, Twal, SST

I'm personally going to wait to find my 2nd starting half, just find their form can be inconsistent at times and want to get the one in form closest to the finals.

I reckon go with your gut feeling mate, no real easy clear cut choice.

Re Roosters, its a guessing game, which is probably why no one has answered.. no one knows. Don't seem to be many ears to the ground with that club.

Has Johnson been named yet? As a Flanagan owner I’d love some clarity. Don’t like any of the options, but it’d be nice to know for sure if I need to bring someone in for Flanagan. Will I need to wait until an hour before kick off?

I'm in a dilemma regarding Matterson. Him playing Origin doesn't worry me, I think he's going to actually but he'll be a good POD if people are shying away from him because of it.

My dilemma is if I get him this week, I pretty much lock myself into having to trade SJ into the HLF's because I won't have the cash to get anyone better.

I mean conversely though if I get a gun HLF in like Milford then I don't leave room to get a good 17th scorer or at least nobody that has good scoring potential that's going to be priced in the low 600k range.

For certainty wait until an hour before kickoff, there may be an indication earlier than that .

Luckily its the first game, so I'd say just have 2 sets of trades planned to handle each situation, and then adjust this evening as required once teams are named
