My niche was Clawfoot bath restoration. No one else wanted to do it, because it’s hard. So I did. 60-80 hours a week, plenty of mistakes while learning the craft.
20 years later, life’s good. Own home on acreage, with pool. No debts. I still do the odd restoration job from home if I’m bored with golf, fishing, camping.

Yeah, I know. Just a gentle nudge for him. Of cause he may have just worked 4 x 12 hour days.
Absolutely. Having done it in the past the big thing to be aware of going in is keeping your Fridays off. I probably worked 1 in 3 of them when I was set up that way but even then it was still worth it.Revraiser wrote:Would u office boys amongst us go to a 10 hour day 4 days a week if u could ?

I did 9 hours a day, 9 day fortnight in the previous gig. Was really good for family time.
But it was only possible because the job was lightweight. In the current role if I tried that I’d be making up weekend time. Be really careful of 10/4 turning into 11/4.5 .....
But totally worth it if you can be confident of holding the time!
