Anyway. The hooking hopefully sparks SJ!

Hopefully it sparks SJ to move to the Roosters next year with the Sharks paying half his salary.

His scores are still good and I'm well aware its points not minutes that we're after but there is definitely something there.

Was part of my reason for trading him mate. Since Uele has come into the scene his minutes have been lower. Woods also now back from injury and I see him closer to 50 minutes than 60. We all know what Fifita can do in limited minutes but I’m willing to take that risk

2x "Marquee Players" can be signed beyond the salary cap, so for him probably yes.

I'm loving all these potential signings for the mighty Doggies. I've heard both Turbo's mentioned & now Easy-E. I'm sure I read about a couple of other players that I like but I can't remember.

Mau attack and aggression is still great but his defence has slipped heaps in the past 2 years, his lateral movement is terrible and puts too much pressure on the guys outside him. Not worth the money to keep him considering the younger backrowers at the club and potential signings around

Today’s paper has the Eagles offering Jake and Tom 10mil over 5 years. They won’t go anywhere. Eagles will screw themseleves again, 3 players taking up over 3mil leaving 6.8mil for 27 players with 110k min. Avg 250k for those other 27 guys. Not sure how it works when you already have guys signed like Taupau on 800k

So what you're saying is that Taupau will go to the dogs? Gotcha. Smile

So hard to know what to believe when figures like that get thrown around though. Last week there was talk that both were willing to take "unders" to stay together at Manly. If that's the case, then Manly aren't giving them a mil each per year.

The truth is always somewhere in the middle with these reported deals. Half the time the "potential to earn 150k per year in TPPs" gets included in the medias version of the offer, then someone factors in 100k a year for origin... potential test match earnings.. Next minute 700k on the cap is 1mil a year in the media

They'll be fine. Des and Manly have a stellar record of cap management after all lol!
I'd be surprised if it would take that much to keep them, they seem like loyal blokes.

I just searched "back ended" on google, thinking I'd find a funny pic to post in to cap management, and a pic of Hasler came up in the first couple of results Laugh

Yeah the Turbo bros seem like loyal 1 club type of players to me but it's funny how the lure of the green (no not the mary jane) can become the first priority quite fast. I'd say Manly would be moving heaven & earth to keep them.

Can I just say I am so happy that there are no more 4 game weekends for the rest of the year (barring finals). I hope a few of my POD's can fire for the rest of the year (SST, Drinkwater). Will be grabbing my final gun HLF next week out of DCE, Arey, Cleary and then my final piece will come in R21, not sure who yet but will be able to get anyone.

I'm surprised as well. I'll miss his centre duel on sc and vsdt for 2020.

I need to get Bateman to complete my CTR positions. Obvious choice to replace would have been Xerri over Nikora but Xerri's last 5 avg is 41.8 compared to Nikora's 40.6. And Xerri looks more likely to score in live plays. So what are your thoughts on Xerri or Nikora for Bateman?

Nikora for safety. Xerri for bigger scores some week but also lower scores some weeks. Probably both average the same in the end for rest of year so won't matter which way go.

In saying that but if Nikora can find the try line like he did 1st half of season then he definitely the one to keep. Base alone he will match Xerri, just needs those attacking stats again.

Since his week off in R7, Nikora has been no better than a range of other centre options. Hasn’t hit 50 once. I think he’s only viewed as a keeper because pretty much everyone has limited trades and much bigger priorities than centre. Having said that, Xerri is a worry because of CT/WG shenanigans. Between the two, I’m sticking with Nikora, at least he will score more consistently.
