Ponga for prez wrote:Hey fellas, I need some help on decisions here,
I have kept ponga throughout his injury, and have no cover in my reserves, should I trade him for ttrbo/wighton/burns? Aiming to trade him back in asap. Also considering twal to klemmer/lodge, anyone wanna help with that? Too sideways? Got 10 trades left, cheers guys

Ponga is due back in R18 and there was some mail that he might even play in R17, so I'd say he's a hold now

    Twal to Klemmer/Lodge seems sideways

Twal average 51.5, last 5 average of 51
Klemmer average 53.8, last 5 average of 49.4 (backing up 2 days after Origin, unsure on how many mins in Origin he will play though)
Lodge average 47.2, last 5 average though of 55.8 (unsure of whether min increase is due to injuries or was potential Origin berth sparking him)

Also every chance Lodge misses a game or two for his sweep kick.

Had Xerri to Burns lined up but don't really feel the need now. No idea who to trade now

I'm in a bit of a pickle with my trades this week, as others are. Also going to the Tigers/Eels game so will have to set up my team properly to avoid late outs

Xerri to Fifita definitely locked in but will have to wait until after Origin do determine 2nd trade - whether that is Watson to TTurbo (and play Mann if Ponga isn't named) or Mann to Burns for 18th man (and play Burns and Watson)

Full team (4 trades, 477k remaining)
    Smith
    Taupau Haas
    Matterson Murray Taumalolo
    Munster SJ
    Bateman Nikora
    Tedesco RTS Watson

    Cook McInnes Xerri Mann
    Carrigan Coates Walters Ponga

Amazing moves frankly. Wouldn’t sweat potentially needing one match out of Mann. If that concerned don’t worry about the Mann to Burns. Just hold the Watson to Turbo until a week later when you have ponga back

I had Milf penciled in for a trade this week and now im hearing he may be good to go??

    Was looking at

    Milf > Drinkwater
    Xerri/CNK > Bateman

    Now i dont know

    Smith
    Haas, Fifita
    Lolo, Taupau, Murray
    Brooks, SJ
    Nikora, Xerri
    Ponga, Teddy, RTS

    Milford, SST, Tevaga, Fainu
    CNK, Martin, Walters, Brittain

Only 4 trades left and 41k, might be even smarter to not trade at all

    Any ideas lads?

TLT probably won't reveal much as it's before Origin and teams can name 23 (??) man squads to accommodate for Origin players

Crossland will probably play from the bench again as apparently Pearce is likely to be rested with 2 day turnaround from Origin and potentially with SOS hamstring injury, Broncos may actually opt to play with a HLF (Paix) instead of 3 HOKs

As said, Coates probably plays with Shibasaki fractured finger

    Watson and cnk to

    A) Munster and jurbo
    B) brooks and turbo

The correct answer is probably wait till origin is done?

Yeah I would hold of on any trades till origin is done and we know who's in and who's out.

Scored 500 and dropped back to 411. This week should be just about back to full strength. Will be good to have Fifi and SST back. Captain Tolo for me I think this week, will have to step up for his team against the roosters at Central Coast Stadium.

Not making any trades until Thursday this week. Will look at my plan; 4 trades left and only 1-2 players away from my final 21. Looking at bringing Fainu in and out with 2 of those trades and using the other 2 to bring in a Gun HLF and Burns for cover, then when Fainu leaves he will become anyone!!! Probably Jurbo/Matterson

I'm leaning towards Fifita as captain. He should be rearing to go after sitting on the sideline for a couple weeks

If Milford plays, then it will probably be Turpin/Boyd/Milford in some combination across the halves and fb.

Yep, Flanagan definitely has to sit a few games out for that one.

Against Storm for Cam's 400th. His last three against the Storm have been a bit meh; 45, 45, 38 (newest to oldest). I think Morris has realised BHU is a small stint player. Can't last the lengths that Fifita can but who know what Morris will do these days. Claimed he hooked Moylan because his hammy was a little tight and they need him for the Storm next week so was just precautionary.

I thought of it. Haas against Warriors may even be a good shout. Should tear that pack to shreds! I can't believe this kid that played all of 36 minutes last year has an average of 63.5 and not a single score below 50. Crazy to think he was 231K and is now an elite gun next to Fifita.

Next year will be tough to pick the right Gun/Cow combo with a lot of Guns emerging in each position. Players like Fifi, CS9 are no longer lock ins

If trips are generally just fines, I think Lodge's sweep kick will probably be a fine as well. It was nothing really, there was no chance that Flanagan was goign to get hurt from it.

I think next year I will take a different strategy. I will be very aggressive and pro-active with my trades early on to get the right players and then settle down a little through the middle period to save trades to jump on a few players around the Origin period then aggressively trade in the back end to get on the final few guns and finish first?? surely its as easy as that?

Keen for next year though. Hoping to finish top 250 this year.
