24 hour updated team due at 3pm today with cut to 19 players. However I would say with a player of Turbo's calibre if I was coaching staff of Manly I wouldn't be giving opposition 24 hours to prepare of him not playing if they knew he wasn't backing up and would be removing him before kick-off

I am hoping for at least 40, I will be happy enough.

I'm hopeful too. His fantasy scores at fullback haven't been great this year but he's been a bit unlucky at times. Last week for example he was working his ass off but it was a miserable game with so many stoppages due to errors and from memory some of his negatives were trying to stop a try etc. He's a real talent and was in heaps of my preseason drafts, I expect him to bust out a big score from fullback or halves at some stage, hopefully this week is the week!

There's been a few tough weeks this year where I've spent ALL week thinking about the trades and projected prices rises etc. Last week was one, and a couple over the byes and a couple early on. This week I haven't deliberated too much. Had always planned to do Xerri to Burns and see no reason to change my mind on that.

Yeah this year has been horrible with the late outs and injuries to some key players. This week I planned to go Xerri to Burns but with the Martin injury I have to go Martin to Burns to field a full 17 but this now leaves me just short of my targeted trades next week (arey/DCE and Twal/Klemmer) unless Xerri pumps out a 50+ against the Storm or Watson goes hamm against the Dogs (more likely). I then have the choice of going Xerri to Fainu and Martin to Burns, which would allow me to go Watson to Arey/DCE (R18) and Fainu to Jurbo/Matto (R21) but this would leave me with 0 trades. So tough.

Anyways, I hope your week goes well and we see a few 1000's around here.

As you say you just need either Xerri or Watson to put a good score so you never know. And next week there'll be more conundrums. It may be that Lomax returns allowing you to get him as your wfb/cen cover instead of Burns allowing you to spend more elsewhere for example. I'd 100% be trying to keep that solo trade a bit longer though.

So instead of an extra WFB for the week and Munster in as my final gun I'll be running with 16 players and Reece Robson on the bench.

Averages work that out to be about 45-55 points lost for the round. I sure hope this extra trade up my sleeve is enough to claw back that deficit over the last 8 rounds.

I know it's the smart move but just annoys me going into a week of fantasy where I know that no matter what I do, I'm going to be dropping a lot of ranks.

    Yeah Martin > Burns already locked in this week. That one ain't changing. I will just have to pray Xerri/Watson grab a big score or Twal/Klemmer lose a little bit of $$. That 1 trade will come in handy for any long term injuries as I will have ample cover!! Final team will be assembled next week;
    Cook
    Fifi Haas
    Taupau Tolo Murray
    SJ DCE/Arey
    Bateman Nikora
    Drinkwater Ponga Teddy
    CS9 CM9 Klemmer/Twal NPR
    SST Burns Mann NPR

    1 Trade.

    I dont mind it

I'm not so sure you're dropping ranks fielding 16. There will be plenty I reckon. Plenty will be playing some dogshit too. In my case Fusitua or a bench Brittain may need to come in for their 15 points, others have Coates who is no certainty to put up a good score. Will be an interesting round.

I'll probably field 17, but it will include Mann and Coates, so a strong 16 could easily beat me. Lots of people will struggle this week.

That would be my backline.......somehow I can still field 17 if I trade Xerri to Burns (and Murray plays). Unfortunately that 17 includes Pearson and Carrigan

Some advice would be appreciated Chaps/Chapettes

6 Trades left team this week

    Smith
    Fifita Haas
    Tolo Murray Matterson
    Watson SJ
    Nikora Xerri
    RTS Pearson Tturbo

    Cook Mahoney AFB Bateman

    Carrigan Walters Ponga Teddy

Was planning on Watson to best half option next week, AFB to Taupau after that and then move Bateman to Centre.
Was maybe planning Xerri to Burns to give more flexibility but was going to hold off for a week. if Tturbo is out i will probably pull the trigger this week
Good Idea (thumbs up) or shit one (thumbs down)

Sam Burgess ruled out for Souths, may miss a couple of weeks with infection in shoulder.

Ouch that's not good, could rule him out for a quite a while.

Also makes all souths players less attractive. His presence makes a fairly material difference to the psychology of the team. Especially with the other brother out.

Might have to rethink my SC trade of cwalker.

I had a proper look mate and with your cash and trades I don't think you can get both Cook and Bateman. I would prioritize Cook. He could very well lose cash over the next three weeks if he puts up a mediocre score this week. Meanwhile Tevaga and Fainu are hopefully making decent Cash. I missed Bateman in the early season but it worked to my benefit when he got injured, so he could be a reverse POD for you if he picks up a niggle or gets shunted to the centres (and loses his magical powers of scoring well in any position).

I would look at Martin to Burns. Means you can field 17 this week. Then I would hold for a couple of weeks while Cook hopefully drops $ and Fainu/Tevaga gain $. After this week I would play Burns in my centres over Xerri. I would keep CNK as cover until a genuine cash out option (with some job security) popped up and then cash him out. There is a chance one of Tevaga/Fainu becomes a keeper, the other can become Cook. If they're both not keepers you could ultimately use your last trade on them to a gun but there would only be a few weeks left by then and hopefully hang on. Don't despair though, there will be LOADS of teams running the gauntlet for the last few weeks. By waiting on the other trades as I've suggested it also allows you to keep the plan flexible in case of other problems which is what I'm doing. Good luck!

LATE MAIL - @SSFCRABBITOHS captain @SamBurgess8 WON’T return from shoulder surgery V Manly. Wayne Bennett says he’s still a couple of weeks away. Ethan Lowe will be rested so Jaydn Su’a will make his club debut. Other #Origin players will back up

Sounds like Murray is playing, as not mentioned
