Tracey is lining up in Canterbury Cup so I’m guessing he will be cut from the first grade team list, good news for Cook

I'm guessing Sironen comes in? Very good news for Cook if so.

Even as someone who tipped Dogs (midweek thinking Ponga, Klemmer and Pearce were all out), that was a pretty weird turn of events with the video ref.

Luckily DaGold cleared up the confusion with some math though.

Conclusive evidence to overturn the decision? No. Did he think it was probably a try? Yes. Does that mean you award it? No. However it is what it is. If we're a serious team this year we put the Bulldogs away early. We've hit a little form slump

I dont think it was a try, but the rules were changed this year, they dont need conclusive evidence. (Ehich i think is a bizarre thing to do, just creates more whinging)

At least Knights got the 6 points back instantly via Napa's dropped ball gift. So yeah, agree they should've put Dogs away earlier and not been in that position.

Hopefully Ponga back next week and the midseason form returns.

I don't know how anyone could play with him. Literally every missed tackle or every try that get's scored down his end is going to be scrutinized.

Or when he doesn't pass and goes for the line himself Razz

His winger's gonna be asking "You got money on yourself again bro?"

    Any opinions on this?

    Farah and Xerri to:

Rapana and Smith (leaves me no centre coverage)

    or

Burns and any player 715k or under (leaves me with centre coverage)

I'd only be playing Rapana this week to cover for Teddy. Is Smith worth it?

Hmm 4 trades left. Do i accept 16 starters or trade in coates for the cashout from dearden (leaves me with 300k and 3 trades to ride out year). Thought of bringing in burns but dont want that money tied up in 1 player and have him and xerri in emg next week

Very Happy I thought it was a no try too! Just tried to put numbers to his thinking and if he actually thought it was a try it was better in the end that he called it as he saw it than hide behind a on field call. To be even more clear Id bet the ref only said on field no try because of the in air contest and he thought there was a touch, not the put down, so the on field call wasn't even relevant. I will add it all up now.

    In air contest = .5 (50/50)
On field ref thinks i need to say something here (coin flip no try) = 1
Grounding most likely thought to be ok live. (correct result should be round .85 up to 1 for a try referral)
But - 1 for the coin flip result on the silly idea that on field ref should guess what he thinks happened rather than have an i really don't know option have a look.

We are now back to 0/1.

    Enter Mr Video
Video ref clears in air contest = 1 ( and also overrules the refs on field coin flip forced call)
Video ref thinks what he is seeing is most likely legal grounding = .8
Video ref forgets referral no try and accidntally adds his .8 to error of 1 = 1.8
Video ref is weak and won't make the call himself so uses his on field try mistake as cover so he doesn't potentially make an error because everyone thinks they need be infallible and they cop shit for smelly farts. 2
he says on field call. remembers on field was no try and went oh shit. it isn't 2 i have to minus a whole 1. = 1
But he thought what he saw was .8. He thinks what he saw in grounding was a grounding most likely and he is back to .8
He now discounts the need for the 1 from the initial coinflip that could go either way from his math
    so .8/1 looks good enough
actually makes a decision because he can't hide anymore. 1
    TRY

Now as for the actual grounding. Right arm seemed not have control when he released his left hand and it made the ground. i give it .4 on evidence plus i dont bother with the on field call because it was nothing short of a guess regardless of the rules. I say no try. Was it contentious? for sure, was it a blunder of a decision. Nah i think it was close. Was it amateur and weak to try to use on field call as cover yep. Why because too many people do math and count tackle busts and have commentary jobs. Did he make the call he thought was correct? I think so, which im ok with. Was there an absolute blunder where it was a confirmed no try. Nope. Therefore .5 x ? = 1+.8 = 2 - 1 = .8 = 1 + ? = x - 1.2 = 1 +/- 1 +/-1 = 1

So in short my mind is a special place

Jimenez. Wolves don't have a good opening draw plus they have Europa this season & we all know how that affected Burnley last year.
The best 4.5's are in defense so I don't like 2 in m/f & I would only have Dendocker.
    Thanks mate

Based on this, I think Digne is a must-have
Everton also have really good fixtures to start with so I went with Coleman over Wan-Bissaka

Jimenez looks really good value and with Salah + Sterling, I cant afford Kane or any other premium forward

There are plenty of articles and stats analysis out there that show defenders have the best points per million. I think it’s a very good tactic to invest in defense. I think Coleman/Wan-Bissaka/Digne would comfortably outscore any midfielder at the same price

I thought the short-hand version was pretty clear, but can't see anyone arguing with that succinct analysis now.
