I think this is going to be the first week I'm captaining Haas which makes me wonder why I've been avoiding captaining the top averaging player in the game for this long

I haven't done it yet, and I'm not sure that I will this week. He's obviously hard to ignore though.
Do the Bunnies have a big turn around in them? Will Bennett get them going against the Broncos? Can his personal grudge really do that much to fire up his players?

Was it really that much of a dog shot? Obviously I'm a Broncos fan, but I'm trying to remove bias and see it objectively.
To me it appeared to be a bit of an accident. Yes, he came in to put Maloney on his ass, but I don't think he expected Maloney to turn back into him the way that he did, and at that point he was well past committing to falling on him. Is he supposed to let him get up and start running again before tackling him?
100%, it was dumb by Pangai. Grade 2? Crazy. When NAS does a deliberate crusher tackle (holds him up and then drops on his neck) the week before with not even a charge. Come onnnn
I think it deserves what it got. I think It’s bull shit the NAS got nothing. The measure shouldn’t be he got away with so I should too, it should be, he got away with and shouldn’t have.
How Hudson young got 8weeks (or was it 5) for a finger in the eye, first offence, and Maguire has been sighted (see what I did there) three times and only gets fines. That’s fucked. But it doesn’t mean that young should have gotten nothing.
Also, the accident argument I don’t buy. Accidents happen yes. I don’t think he thought, I’m going to jump on Maloney’s neck (yay deliberate crusher). But the reality is what it is, it happened and he deserves to be punished. Same as a sloppy coat hanger, spear tackle or shoulder charge. You should face consequence for the outcome not the intent.

This is true, but that is where the frustration lies I guess. The MRC is a lottery, and the judiciary is a lottery. These are the things that should be pretty simple to get reasonably correct, every time.

Yeah, the NAS decision was a disgrace and does nothing for the credability of the MRC

It seems they are just throwing darts.
Fines for kneeing a bloke in a head seem wildly inappropriate but you might say that's a parameter issue... it's the penalty for contrary conduct that needs to be raised, not the grading.
But stuff like Jake Trbo v Issac Luke grading, or Young v Gurgess v McGuire, or NAS, or Sam Burgess getting downgraded, or TPJ is all inconsistent and very hard to defend.

I think Stevie Wonder would have done a better job at giving more consistent gradings to these incidents this year than the NRL has. Disgraceful.

Re: NRL Fantasy 2019 Part 80
Well this year didn’t go as planned.
What a year of NRL Fantasy it has been
Plenty of trade ideas I have seen
It all started with Lawrie vs Host
Mann is the one I regret most
From getting 1000 plus in the first round
to Tyrone May taking MG's daughter to pound town
It's been a rocky one for a few and smooth sailing for the rest
Payne Haas becoming a blue and NRL becoming a strip fest
My fondest memory was MTB's site, until Fantasy coach showed their bite
What a year it has been, to find the best fantasy team
Our missus are hanging out for Grand Final day.
Little do they know, we still have EPL, NFL and NBA.
Life’s great in Fantasy Land.

Oates has only done a minor amount of training with Perese training the majority at left wing. Will be exciting to see him get a run (if Oates is out).

Curious to see how fifita goes vs warriors. Flanno has pissed him off previously which resulted in significant fantasy results.

My main concern is his knee. If his knee has improved, then im pretty confident of a good score.
Interesting he hasnt done any media lately.. hard to get a read on where hes at without hearing it from him.

Re: NRL Fantasy 2019 Part 80
Thoughts on captain picks?
* Munster - Up against the Titans after a loss, could go absolutely massive here, however is a small risk of being rested. Currently got the armband on him.
* CS9 - Same great matchup and better base but is a risk of getting an early shower or rested entirely (with Harry Grant at 21)
* Haas - Very safe and has upside but not 100% convinced with the matchup.
* Tedesco - Could go absolutely nuts against the Dargs, but isn't at the SCG and it's a night game so Munster just pips him. I've got the VC on him in case Munster is a late out though.
* Cook - On a fast track against Brisbane but Souths aren't playing that well
* Moses - The Dogs are no slouches but it's at Bankwest with Moses kicking goals.
* SJ - Against his old team and has been killing it recently, but not 100% convinced that he'll go huge.
* Papalii - Would be the biggest POD captain play of all time and Manly are a good team, but Papalii seems to score well against good teams too, and could very well get another pie the way he's playing.

Depends what you're aiming for: highest final rank possible with bit of risk or consolidate top 100 spot
I'm thinking Haas, Munster and then Cook

I have to agree, wasn’t a grade 2, I thought a week was fine for that, absolute max 2 if he’s got shitloads of carry overs.my tv broke wrote:

I can see why you’re mad about it, especially with the eye gouging McGuire has gotten away with and then TPJ gets even longer than McGuire on his third offence of eye gouging this year.
Oh and don’t start me on the Storm.....

I'm going for the highest final rank possible, ideally getting up to top 40-50 to make L1 next year, hence the risky captain picks in the last few weeks. With the exception of Moses last week, they've mostly paid off

If I owned Munster though I’d captain him.

I like the Munster pick. Don't think he gets rested and Storm should obliterate Titans with how bad the Titans team is
I'm happy to just own him as enough of a "POD"

For all the talk of PODs and what not.. user wildbux and I were 15 pts apart 5 weeks ago, and now thr difference is 101pts. We have had 16 out of 17 of the same players in our "top squad" in that time, different 18th/19th men though which was a big dif last week

Yeah. If he does get rested, then I'll get Teddy's score instead (as I reckon Teddy will absolutely murder the poor Dragons), though might chuck it on Haas instead. Not 100% sure.
If nobody else gets rested, Munster might legitimately get 100+ against that rabble. He's not the kind of guy to get an early shower when they're up by a lot, usually it's Smith that gets it, or Hughes if Bellamy wants to give Papenhuyzen more minutes. That said, if CS9 gets rested (Harry Grant is in the 21), there's a chance Munster might kick goals, which would be a nice addition to offset losing CS9's score.

McInnes tackling all day against roosters. Not a bad option
