Congratulations to everyone for the amazing year. Probably the best year I've seen in terms of rankings. I finished with an absolute fizzle after the Mods championship win. Just absolutely tanked the season. Very reminiscent of Newcastle, got on the bags too early and forgot you play into September.

In my real live. Around here MTB means Mudgee Tourist Bus. True story.
I do prefer MTB in my fantasy life though. Thanks for your wonderful contributes here. Much better than a bus trip.

But I will always be a sweetheart here. Thanks for the great season guys, to all the mods who organise leagues and all the posters who make talking fantasy so enjoyable
playing this game just wouldn't be the same without you all
This is awesome @Pookus Mcfly, can't let this slide by. Well done lad, top work

Dont think I'll be starting with Hass next season at top price.
Just thinking about this season though my biggest mistake was in rd 4 bringing in Farah as my set and forget captain over Cook. The main reason i did this is I thought the Tigers played the first bye, I didnt bother to double check. Cook went on a purple patch and Farah got ko'ed one game meaning 16 points as captain.
I also reverse traded Kenny to Brittain at last minute. Having Kenny over Brittain would have been useful.

Haas is also off my list. I never start with the highest priced player and this year will be no different. Cook + the cash for me

As well as coming 10th overall, looks like Al came 3rd in the most valuable team race
Winner being Lesa's Legends, in 14,659th position overall with a value of $14.95m

Re: NRL Fantasy 2019 Part 84
My worst trade of the year was cleary my last one.
Traded in Peats ahead of DFifita.
Peats scores 231 points (+ I got a 30 from 19th man the week he didn't play)
Fifita scored 401
Could have ranked 260 instead of 451 with just that trade.
In my defense, Fifita got his 4 highest scores of the year in the last 5 rounds. I don't think anyone really predicted him going quite that big to finish off the year

Re: NRL Fantasy 2019 Part 84
A lot of people have mentioned Dearden as their worst trade.
Particularly those (like me) who traded him in the week he got injured for 0 points and -$2k
But if he didn't get injured, he probably would have been fine as a trade in. In the same situation next year are you going to make that trade or hold off?

Make the trade, I think the difference between good and bad is the type of injury, injury history and recovery length
A bad trade for me was trading back in Burns after his first injury lay off only to lose him again three weeks later, so in effect I held him for 11 weeks for four scores and used three trades (in, out, in hold)......bad trade. It was the lack of wfb/ctr dual position players this year that skewed my rationale...

Yeah, I traded Burns back in too, and that was a known risk that didn't pay off (shame as like many I was down a CTR in the last round)
I think I'd get Dearden in again next year if the same situation pops up
I almost traded in Doueihi the same week, which would have been better in hindsight, but probably wouldn't have been if Dearden stayed fit

pulled together something with not a great deal of thought from Milchy's prices above to fit under the current starting cap, because i'm just that bored, ended up with:
Tevega
James Jensen
Harris Stimson Fifita
Cleary Dearden
Yeo 212K
Ponga Paps 212K
Friend Fainu Koro Luai
4 x 212K

Staggs finally found his groove. He jumps out most but I doubt he’ll retain his DPP flexibility.ÎMilchy wrote:First attempt at 2020 prices

Papman first picked
I’ll make the mistake of not buying Mitch Moses again. Can’t bring myself to spend similar money on him to a DCE
Hookers: Cook/BBrailey
DFifita could be a bargain. Crichton too.
As I did last pre-season and then not listened to myself, probably lean Munster’s way as gun half

My biggest mistake was not having Cook from the start. I know the money saved can potentially buy more points elsewhere, but just reviewing my season not only did I captain Fifita and James for their injury scores, I forgot I also captained Arrow for his 29 for a total of five captain scores under 50 for the first eleven rounds before the bye. My captains scored me 942 points over those eleven rounds. Cook would have scored me 1484. The difference would see me from 128th to 5th, just ahead of MTB The captaincy roulette killed me.
I know anyone can go yeah, if only I did x,y,z I would have won the thing, but starting with Cook as a set and forget captain isn't some way out there idea that no one saw coming. It just goes to show how important getting your captain right is, and I'll be looking to avoid the roulette next year and start with a set and forget captain, probably Cook, and probably trade over the byes.

Re: NRL Fantasy 2019 Part 84
Love your work as always Milchy
Players that interest me at those prices:
Tevaga 725k - Average 57 as a starter
Crichton 708k - Average 51 as a starter
Garner 707k - Average 52 as a starter(taking out injury affected 6 in 30 minutes)
David Fifita 702k - Average 57 as a starter
Watson 672k - Average 59 as a starting hooker
Jake Friend 648k - Average 77 in games not affected by injury
Fainu 615k - Average 60 as a starter
Papenhuyzen 573k - Average 68 as a starting fullback(including the game he was named at 6 but played 1)
Shane Wright 552k - Average 42 as a starting 2nd rower
Flanaghan 541k - Average 43 as a starter
Ryan James 508k - Average 51 as a starting middle, one of the few must haves unless named at 2RF
Jack Williams 486k - Gut feel pick. Starting lock in 2020
Koroisau 479k - Another gut feel pick. Should see more minutes with poor competition for the hooker spot
Brimson 473k - Average of 38 as a starting fullback(including the game he came on after 3 minutes) - this one might be a bit of fools gold. Played enough games as a starter to boost his average and I would like to avoid attacking players for one of the worst teams in the comp(Holland/Edwards anyone?)
Ethan Lowe 467k - Average of 41 as a starting second rower
Tapine 446k - Averaged 37 as starting lock. Has a few stinkers in him but has 10 points of upside
Ford 405k - Average 41 as a starter. Another that may be some fools gold. Loves a missed tackle, doesn't pass the eye test and Dragons have plenty of forward options
Stimson 393k - Another gut feel pick. The same reasons we all wanted him 2019 preseason will apply here
Lomax 393k - Average of 30 as a starter. Some lackluster scores mean this will be a hard pick but if we don't see enough cows in the backs could be an option
Dearden 377k - Take out the early injury and he averaged 37 as a starter
Watkins 326k - Another season removed from injury will be similar to Lomax, an option if there is no one better
Bradman Best 308k - Plenty of upside and should be a starter week 1
Blayke Brailey 272k - If he gets the starting hooker spot with make a boatload of cash. If he stays as utility one to miss
Luai 264k - Average of 32 as a starting half. Will fill the hole left by Maloney

Off topic but with those crackdowns on people using "NRL" in their names.. the "NRLPhysio" had also changed to "league physio" or whatever it was, but he is now back to NRLPhysio.
Anyone hear why? ie did he get the ok to continue, or just giving them the ups
