He does that up the other end it’s a try. So I don’t see how it’s not grounded

the rules says you have to intentionally ground it, considering he was still fighting to get out of the in-goal it would be a hard argument to say that was intentional

Different rules for each end you need intent to ground it defensively and you only need downward pressure and no separation for attacking players

Is there actually a rule about intention in the nrl?

He grounded the ball. Why does it matter that he wasn’t trying to.

If you are trying to get out of goal but end up grounding the ball in goal while sliding out they say drop out. They don’t say play on because you didn’t mean it.

It's in the NRL Laws and Interpretations guidelines, Page 16 for anyone inclined to go look for themselves:

Grounding the Ball in own In Goal

For the ball to be deemed dead the player in possession must intentionally ground the ball in his
own in-goal.
