From memory and it's shady at the best of times, I think the playing group picked him as captain

I believe Fainu is a NZ citizen. The Aussie govt has a policy if you are a NZ citizen & you spend more than 1 year in prison then on release they can deport you back to NZ. So if Fainu is found guilty he will spend more than 1 year in prison so he's likely to get deported to NZ. He might end up having to play for the Warriors.
I know this because Aussie is deporting all the NZ bikie gangsters to NZ after they get out of prison. So we are getting guys from the Hells Angels, Bandidos & Comancheros. Already gun shootings have increased in NZ since this policy has been introduced & police believe it's these gangsters who are committing these crimes.

I was reading on the Manly forum that Fainu's mother thought he was going to get deported for those sex pics & she was devastated. He got off that charge. So imagine how she is feeling now.

Issac Luke officially signs for Dragons

IMO if he is anything more than a backup and ends up shifting McInnes out of 9, Dragons are going to suffer

I think NRL.com had an article that McInnes was happy to shift to lock when Luke comes on.

I don't really get it to be honest. Does Luke really have the spark these days? Mary is obsessed with shuffling positions mid game..?

The law itself is even harsher for that. The person convicted of the crime doesn't even have to be sentenced that harshly, I think the wording is something like that "convicted of a crime that can carry a sentence of over 12 months imprisonment". So even if they only get a six month jail term or no jail at all, it's at the discretion of Peter Dutton and his mates to choose who can stay and who can go.

There is also a completely discretionary part of the law that says anyone who isn't a citizen and is basically hanging around with the wrong people can be deported. This has happened a few times already too with people who were associating with bikies being picked up in the middle of the night and taken to detention centres. Want to fight the charge? You have to do it from inside a detention centre.
Don't want to fight the charge? You're out of the country.

I'm not sure where you're getting your statistics from in regards to an increase in shootings related to a change in policy in Australia. Not only does that sound wrong, it would be extremely difficult to quantify or link the two if it were true. It honestly just sounds like an ignorant comment with no truth behind it to sell a certain narrative.

Also the Warriors are unlikely to sign someone who isn't allowed to play half of their games due to being unable to step foot in Australia. I remember Suaia Matagi initially having to get special clearance for his travel when he joined the Warriors nd I doubt Fainu is going to get that given his alleged crime and how recent it is.

I just heard on the radio that CS9 is considering a switch to h/b with B. Smith to start at hooker.

Its not a bad idea, they will probably do it more and more this season without making it "official" on team sheets. Just share the role a bit more with CS9 getting into hooker when he feels like it.

I guess its a bit like McInnes/Luke but it would allow CS9 to save his body a bit more defending a little wider.

Also it seems now that L. Mitchell will sign for Wests as the Cowboys look like signing Holmes & they can't afford both under the salary cap.
Also that CS9 move to h/b could also prolong his career as he won't have to made a lot of tackles a game.

I wonder what happens to Hughes and Croft. I for one really like Croft... with the right Vets around him and coaching I think he will become a really good player. I think either Hughes or Grant will find a spot on the bench and Croft will play seconds all year until he finds a new club.

If Scott leaves and I also heard Seve recently had surgery maybe Hughes finds a spot at centre?

The article I read said Hughes will go to centre (chambers and Scott gone).. though that might just have been speculation

Yeah apparently C. Scott to the Raiders is the rumour which must mean Leilua is out of there.
