NRL 9s fantasy

To finish off the year is there interest in a 9s fantasy draft.

Ran it for the past 2 club tournaments, so thought we could do it again. Basically just give points for tries and nothing else

Not sure what interest will be like, but probably cap entries at maybe 10 or so people.
Start the draft tomorrow night or Wednesday morning and then have fun on the weekend watching your spuds fail to score

Do they actually name smaller squads before each game? You might have to target players not from AUS & NZ because they have so many to pick from and they have end-of-season tests and U23 test matches soon after

I believe every player in the squad is eligible to play in every game, and the amount of rotation is up to each team.

Part of the skill/luck of drafting is not just picking who will score tries, but picking who will get the necessary game time to score in.

Can we choose womens players as well? In saying that, they will play fewer games so huge risk.

Jess Sergis would pretty much be #1 pick otherwise.

Read through last year's thread. @Archer what was the story behind that result, you couldn't do it again if you tried. Also found this quote:

Haha that's right I did too. Wouldn't pick her again though! A number of really strong try scorers in both Aus and NZ now.

Womens teams only play one less game, is that right? No semi final but there is a final?

I think we should allow women's players

They only play 1 less game.

3 group games for Men and Women
Men have semis, women go straight to final.

Do we have enough interest to go ahead though?

Archer missed the draft last time, and picked a team spuds that got overlooked in the draft.

Probably still could have done better than 0 points he managed though

I'm gonna struggle to make the time for the draft depending when it is.

Is this through just done through NRLF or something like NRL/Supercoach

With a draft not gonna happen do we just want to do a 'pick your best nine'.
Could limit it to a max of 2 players from each team so create a bit more variety in squads.

Previous 9s tournaments it wasn't always easy to get a list of scorers for each game.

Might chuck a team up this afternoon - but it might be a bit of a self scoring effort.
